I saw Steve & Allison perform about 20 winters ago at the Outremont Theatre in Montreal. Half way through, there was a neighborhood power failure and Steve didn't hesitate to unplug and move closer to the audience and played the last hour that way. It was very special and I'll never forget it.

Thank you The Current from a long time Steve fan and member. He's an absolute poet as well as an underappreciated story teller, singer, artist, and performer.
@heyyo83605 жыл бұрын
Eh, he voices his opinion a bit too much. Especially when he shouldn't, like when he is performing an opening for a main event. His language is often unnecessary and he's ignorant to others around him and those who book him. He's actually quite the dickhead most of the time unfortunately. It's sad to think about how fine of a line an artist or celeberty walks to be mutual and not piss anyone off, just to have Steve go out and talk about everything and everyone he hates. I guess he has to do something besides sing though since he doesn't really seem that great at it. I don't think this guy deserves any fans, but he's only got a few so it's cool

A quick response to your question. I love Steve's music (well, a good bit of it) too. But over the years Steve has probably alienated a high percentage of his audience with his comments and politics. As an artist he has to remain true to his art. I get that. But there's way too many times I'd just want him to shut up and sing.

Anybody can be an asshole (I am a 3rd degree black belt.) Grandma said, an empty can makes the loudest noise. Thanks. As for Mr. Earle, I think he would get into a furious discussion about how the toilet paper should hang on a roller. I hope the man is at peace with himself.

Thanks for this jem of a concert. I had always wanted to see him live, and was doing photography for the Halifax film festival at the casino. When entering the room, I heard what I thought was a good rendition of copperhead road from the next room. Sure enough it was Steve and the dukes. I took a break and the doorman let me in. im fan of many texas artists, but when i want to rock out its rodney crowell and steve. i m close in age to him and i im repeatedly disturbed by his calling women girls.the last time i was called a girl i was not much over 20 ,early 70s and it was not appropriate then.im usually ok with his politics and find it very odd that hes so politically aware and has not been confronted by this over and over.and changed with the times

Im a bit younger than you but I know what youre talking about. Im very disappointed that alot of men our age seem to be politically hip but ignorant when it comes to women. They are surprised to hear I and most women find it offensive. when a man calls us girl, honey, sweetie etc. None of them would want to be called a boy
