Listen to the studio version in a car with a good stereo system and turn it up. The bass line is mesmerizing

A young looking Steve Earle performing Transcendental Blues is great. I have seen Steve Earle in concert three times and have a picture of him and me in my dining room.

Jessica C This whole album is good. I liked TB the first time I saw him play it on TV. But after buying and listening to the CD I wasn't as taken by the rest of the songs. But I hung tough and listened to it a couple more times. After about the third time I realized that indeed, every song on that album is good! One of my favorite albums of all time, for sure.

This is a fantastic album, I ran out and bought it after watching this program. I'll have to admit it took me a few listens to make it grow on me, and it did! Not a bad song on it! I saw him in Seattle when he was out supporting the CD, and I still have my ticket stub inside the CD case.

Anyone else think this might be what Kurt Cobain would sound like today?
@k.g.alatore3553 жыл бұрын
A lot of the grunge guys who lived to tell about it went folk/Americana. Kurt Cobain more or less accidentally created Steve's son Justin's sound, so it's very possible, given that Kurt was very much all about old-school blues and country. Before he passed, it was suggested by King Buzzo to him that he should do a solo acoustic tour. The possibilities would have been lovely. And it sure as shit would have been dope to see Steve and Kurt share a stage.

@YaroKior and @niuniek777 Nirvana was a great band, but if you folks think that is where the influences are here, you need to learn more about music. There is a whole history before Cobain, though they do draw on some of the same influences, Steve learned it much earlier. And no, he is Justin Townes Earle's dad.
