The last part of the letter was him trying to explain how its probably going to be hard for her to find a job but it honestly just made him sound scatter-brained. At first I wondered why he would risk his happiness in his life for this woman but after hearing that last part, I figured it out - he's not that bright.

If he is still married, he doesn't need to be dealing with her like that. They have a sexual past so it does not look good for them to be constantly together when he is married to another woman. How would he feel if his wife started hanging around an old boyfriend that she used to sleep with in the name of helping him? I would not like for my husband to even reach out to communicate with women in his sexual past. One thing I learned a long time ago is not to give the appearance of evil. I also learned that the more a man and woman are around each other, the more likely it is for feelings to develop. He is obviously a very caring man, but he is setting himself up to fall if he does not stop trying to help her. The bottom line is that she is not his problem. If she has issues, she needs to work it out by seeing why government programs are out there, seeing what little bit of money she can get on the side because of her felony, and trying to stay clean. Does she have any family members that can help her out or friends whose house she can crash at until she gets her own place? Why is everything falling on this man to take care of? He needs to part ways with her quickly, not only to save his marriage, but also to keep from being guilty by association because if the cops pull them over and find drugs on her, he is going down too, especially if she throws him under the bus to get a lighter sentence for herself since she already has a felony.
