I never said I didn’t like it though. If they weren’t fucked, they’d stick together man. Sum 41 reminds me of blink-182. Without Tom blink-182 was not the same. Without Stevo, Sum 41 isn’t the same. Pain for pleasure!

​@@devilsoffspring5519cone said it was due to the stress of touring, and also it was during derycks struggle with addiction. He was the first in the band to have a kid, so that played an even bigger factor in him leaving for sure.

@@devilsoffspring5519 Correct, but Steve left the band a decade ago. Deryck's hospitalization was about a year or so after that. I don't follow the band much since Steve left tbh, but yea seems Deryck is doing well with his new lifestyle.

This video perfectly displays why his rhythm tied the band and their whole sound together. No matter what you thought about punk rock you could not deny this dude could make a damn good beat. His breakdown in the bridge here makes the whole song. You can’t listen to it and not bob your head when he hits that snare/bass combo

He actually did an interview last year On 99.9 Punk World Radio FM(Canada) on KZbin. The Real estate was a California thing he did. He doesn't live in the states he's in Australia, not sure if he mentioned what he was up to now as a job in the interview.
