You ask such wonderful questions in your interviews, Shane. Fun to see your development in Spanish. In your most recent videos your accent has made leaps as well as your knowledge and growing mastery in every other way. So on to Russian for you. Thank you for sharing your journey. Spanish and German has been my enjoyment early in life and forty years later, I pick them up at a new level, starting two years ago. I spend hours a day since I can’t travel or work…but what is available on line today (and in books) is so rich. Being close to the end of life I no longer measure a destination by hours or skill…but by pure enjoyment in the myriad ways we can employ language and enjoy the world that speaks these languages. Thank you so much for your rich contribution.

But I know for this I need to listen more and try to speak little by little. Thank you for your videos and advice, Steve is a living legend!

@Ryosuke12083 жыл бұрын
Only 2 months? That's quite amazing, and your native language is english? Wow, you shouldn't worry that much about not speaking, that'll come later when you listen to more and more vocabulary. You should try to speak sentences that you have certain confidence that they're right and little by little you can try more phrases, but only after you've had enough input.
@mariategus51843 жыл бұрын
@@Ryosuke1208 My native is Romanian so that's why probably it's easier. And now 5 months later I can't believe the difference. Speaking is much easier and I can understand native podcasts like Entiende tu mente, I can read some books and I can hold a conversation If another person doesn't have heavy accent or spaks too fast. :) It's amazing

@@mariategus5184 That's very encouraging. I'm about 2 1/2 months into watching Dreaming Spanish. I did take a year of Spanish college 20+ years ago and did the occasional Duolingo, but considering how much I forgot from my Spanish classes and how little I think Duolingo helped, I consider my journey starting when I joined the DS website. I also can understand most of this conversation. And while Pablo recommends waiting, I've been reading quite a bit. I can read with about 90-95% comprehension graded-readers aimed at 3rd year Spanish students. I'm waiting for the moment I can understand native content. I hope I get there as quickly as you did.
