We all listened to those 70s ECM Albums Steve Kuhn recorded,Right? I was a teen lucky to be influenced by old school harmonically literate players steeped in the bop tradition. But this was part of my own separate inquiry. Anyway at 62 I understand that for Bill Evans, he and the piano are servants of the Architecture in question; the tune at hand. But this Kuhn then was more like the piano is the Message and I've written just enough tune to showcase that via my prodigious technique. It was really crashy truly like a storm at sea so it's educational to hear the older mature Steve Kuhn tackle those same parameters .
