I like that ride cymbal on Steve's kit. Drummers trading 8's and 4's very cool.

I just listened to it again and that was awesome! Eloquent, fluent jazz. I taught myself to play many years ago in large part to jazz albums (and Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart). It was a good call since I got started late and knew I had to "baptize by fire". I picked up some of the tricks but I'm sure I've also had to work myself through/out of plenty of bad habits along the way. I knew I wasn't a real jazz guy deep down (R&B, Blues, Rock and I sing a lot lead and backing) but I'll never regret taking that approach to learning since it was the best I could scrap together at the time under the circumstances. You jazz guys are the top of the technical mountain for sure. In the case of this recording great artists as well.

What brand is each kit...? I can see one is Gretsch, but which model.
@stevemaxwelldrums4 жыл бұрын
My kit was my personal Craviotto 12/14/18 and the snare was the Rogers WMP wood dyna and is the final prototype before the new drums were issued. The Gretsch kit is USA Custom and my personal kit as well. Espresso burst and I had this one built with the 302 rims.

+stevemaxwelldrums *This Tune looks a good one for working on **_my_** chops!* Especially considering that I've a Tama®/Hoshino® kit with a 22" kick, five toms (three rack and two floor), and a snare drum on considerably more tilt than either four-piece this session - I'm used to the angles of military side drums.
