This is an example of not being able to take yes for an answer. There was no argument until Mnuchin turned it into one. He asked to leave and she said okay. Then he lost his mind. Then he said, "okay, I'll stay if you want me to." Then she agreed to that. Then he got mad and accused her of making him stay. Then she said "you're free to leave. Giving Chairwoman Maxine Waters an ultimatum didn't help his plight. Threatening not to cooperate in the future, if he didn't get his way, while being uncooperative was an unwise choice. Logically, one could predict that would not benefit him well. He would have been well aware (prior to the formal hearing) the ramifications of leaving without being dismissed. Apparently he thought he could run the hearing according to his schedule. Unfortunately for him, it doesn't work like that.
