One thing i realize when watching this game again is how fluid and easy it was to watch 2000’s basketball. In the current nba if feels like they call fouls on every play and it slows the game down, it takes a lot of the energy and enjoyment out of the game.

I loved the Suns of the 2000s. Nash was a tough man to defend because he can shoot outside and penetrate to either pass or make a mid-range shot. They had Marion and Stoudemire for the rebounds and interior defense, not to mention that they were also scoring threats. Barbosa was an excellent 6th man. They had a lot of potential but somehow they always ran short in the playoffs.

But Steve Nash inspired me, before Derrick Rose (and Deng, Gordon, and Noc before him) brought me back to the Bulls. Thank you Nash for forming my game and inspiring me to always be myself. They were such a fast team compared to the other teams in the West at that time. West coast teams were already known for putting up shots but Nash's Phoenix Suns was by far the fastest team out there, it was insane to see especially the 2004-2005 Suns.

Imagine Steve playing at his peak in today's NBA, where shooting three's is half of the offensive plays for all teams. You're basically looking at what Steve would do just by watching Steph Curry. Their games emulate each other because Nash was Steph's favorite player growing up. But if Nash shot as many 3's per game as the average NBA point guards do today, Nash would go down as one of the greatest 3point shooters in history.. Steph Curry, known as the greatest three point shooter of all time has an other-worldly CAREER 3pt percentage of 43%... guess what Steve Nash's CAREER 3pt percentage was...43%!!! The only difference obviously is that Steph Curry shoots many more threes per game than Steve ever did. But in today's game, Steve Nash would literally emulate what Steph Curry is doing now, if he had shot the amount of 3's Steph does... Plus just like Steph Curry, Steve Nash is a wizard handling and passing the ball, and getting his teammates involved... he's an even a better passer than Steph Curry is... Steve Nash would be considered an even greater point guard than he is already known for..
@yunan9610
@yunan9610 Жыл бұрын
They ultimately having different playstyle. Steph isn't necessarily a worse passer either. He still averages 5-6 assists per game making correct passes when he gets doubled. But for sure no one would doubt Nash' MVP season had he shoots more threes. I think his ppg would be bumped up to 20-22 ppg and he might won a championship or two
