I think Mr. Perry's voice stands out way more than other singers because everything I have ever heard Mr. Perry sing, he has always put his complete heart and soul into and people can hear that clearly. The melody of this tune just wrecks me every time. The first lines he sings...was it you? was it I?...it breaks me without hesitation. It’s so beautiful, so haunting, and you can feel the pain and emotion in his voice. It is absolutely what singing is all about. Never has there been a vocalist than can layer that much feeling within every letter and every syllable in every word that comes out, nor can any other singer chill you to the bone with a whisper just the same as belting it out. Steve Perry is the greatest of all time! No room for discussion!
