Steve P is a genius; without the Porcaro Family, modern pop and rock music would not be what it is.

Pure class, all the way - even down to how he handles more delicate subjects, like Bobby Kimball’s departure from Toto. Never a bad thing to say about anyone, totally humble; a true icon from the last great era of studio greats!

Thanks for these Vicki! Steve Porcaro is my favourite songwriter, and I love hearing any interviews with him. This and your interview with Luke have been great to listen and have helped me with some recent trouble sleeping, so thank you again!

Oh, the man is beloved!! Him and his family!!! One of the last great recordings of the brothers together and to show off Steve's songwriting // STEVE PORCARO - 'BACK TO YOU' // kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqqmi3aOq6x7qqs // 1983 outtake that wound up on his first solo album "Someday/Somehow" in 2016 with his brothers Jeff & Mike (posthumously). The rapid synths, the tight drumming, the pocket bass fills, and the sense of lyrical urgency in the later years of a songwriter. Feel it all in this song. Sounds especially cool in headphones, especially with the synth patterns.

When Desmond Child originally worked with Jon Bon Jovi & Richie Sambora, they wrote by song title. Desmond, threw out a title, like " You give love a bad name", and Jon & Richie wrote the song
@timoiiskola767611 ай бұрын
That's not quite true, because Desmond had used that melody before with Bonnie Tyler. As far as the lyric, that could be true.
