Some amazing, wonderful performances. I've been a fan since the eighties. Good to see some live stuff.

I was fortunate enough to have attended both of these shows. According to Steve, this event will be an annual one, same venue, same weekend. I will attend them as long as I'm able. Both nights were incredible performances. Looking forward to the CD.

+Hollan Holmes .....hmmmm....it's now past the "same weekend" and I havent seen anything about him doing this concert at this venue. I too was at both shows in 2015....and was looking forward to a repeat this year. DID he play Valentines Day weekend....ANYWHERE in Tucson....????

+Jay Foley I talked to Steve about a month ago. Contrary to what I had heard the year before, Steve has no current plans for a show in Tucson this year. I'm as disappointed as you are. SoundQuestFest was supposed to be an annual thing and it, too, failed to come to fruition. You and I both know Steve is a very busy man, so even the best of intentions can sometimes give way to more pressing matters or changes of plans. Any time he has a show anywhere in Arizona, I'll likely be there. Hopefully, he'll put something together soon.

thanks for fillin' me in Hollan....(Steve has been my favorite "ethno-ambio-tribal" musician ever since I heard the CD "The Leaving Time"...way back in the fall of 1988). That was actually more of a Michael Shrieve project than Steve's...and was way more influenced by Shrieve's percussion approach...but still...listening to that album caused me to then come across Steve's "Australia"...(on cassette...no less)...and from that point...I was "hooked" for life. I'm sure you can relate...:)

+Jay Foley That's right around the time I discovered him. Ended up doing a couple of album covers for him (I'm a visual artist by day). Lost Pieces, Vol. 4 and Immersion One. Also did one of his tee shirts (the Circuit Mandala) and the graphics for his Immersion Station apps. He mastered my debut album in 2010. He is truly a master of his craft. I'm especially impressed with his analog modular work. He seems to have plenty of rocket sauce left in the bottle, even after nearly four decades at this. Impressive.

Plus..he grew up in the same neighborhood that I did...was born at the hospital my son was born in...and still races "senior league" motocross...to "blow off steam"...!!!! The "steam" I heard coming off his gear at Galactic Center...on the 2nd night of last year's Valentine's day performances...was so friggin' hot that it drew tears right outta my eyes. I was the closest listener on both those nights...literally 5 feet from him at times...in my trusty 7 position portable reclining camp chair...front and center. There was a passage in one of his propulsive tracks that simply could not have been unleashed by anyone else. Swirling conch whistles and other "air" sounds....so wicked...so gorgeous...so meant for the speed of light's soundtrack.

I read that Steve will always be doing this February gig at The Galactic Center...but this year...(2016)...this "same weekend" has come and gone...and I heard nothing about any shows done in Tucson....so I'm wondering...whaddup with that...????
