Thanks tom I've been lucky enough to fish matches with Steve on our rivers bure and thurne and he's a really top man easy to talk to and lethal with a pole in his hands there's really not many sports where us mortal folk can fish along side with world champs and England team anglers what lucky people we are

Hi Tom I think that’s the best interview I have seen. Steve is such a modest man and a great angler. I used to go to KC angling when I lived in London just to get to listen to him and the other Steve just to gain some knowledge. I didn’t really put it to use match fishing but the little nuggets I’d get helped my fishing immensely! Bill

Gardner and Sanders....household names, and you'd NEVER want to go up against them in a pairs match. I was there when Will won in Italy, and the confidence of the team was so high. Sean, Des, Alan, Will, Steve G and Stu Conroy were immense that weekend. Dorking were immense too, and I witnessed 1 of their Super League wins at White Acres first hand, and a second place over 2 days at Woodlands View / Twyford Farm as well. I still have some Carpa Chimps, and loads of other Carpa floats....over 1000 in total, I think. Great interview with a true gent. Thanks Tom, and Steve.

Enjoyed that Tom. There's so many different types of match fishing these days and so much money to be won that I wouldn't be surprised if there is an international team in 10 years time. Your quote about the match fishing magazine with the England team being the worse selling issue amazes and saddens me. If I could win the world champs or fisho, Maver and parkdean in the same year I would genuinely choose the world champs every single time.
