Video directed by John Morrison. Steve Kilbey is an Aussie Rock Icon. As well as being the singer and founding member of The Church, Steve has also had a prolific solo career. In this series, Steve talks about a range of issues. Some of you wont like what he has to say and some of you will applaud him. Steve talks with passion and honesty and can often leave you re assessing the way you think about things.

I can't really think of a moment where I would NOT pay for a Church record. I feel proud to say that. To me, The Church is real art--I'm investing, you see.

I've been playing bass and guitar since high school. In fact, Steve, ol' boy, To Be In Your Eyes was one of the first songs I learned from start to finish and it taught me the difference between merely having a jam with someone and playing the song from beginning to end. And then learning (or writing) another one. Thanks for that. BTW - your commentary on the contemporary music industry/market - mate, apple grower or not, you are the real deal.

I like what he says about not spending too much energy and time on the business/legal side of things so he can focus more on writing songs and other creative pursuits. I definitely can relate to that. Huge fan of The Church and just saw them in Cleveland (drove from Pittsburgh actually) play the Starfish 30th anniversary show. Both sets were great and the newest records are very good!

Amen Mr Kilbey - no one has done anything better than The Beatles - and it is testament to that for the hipest kids currently at school are still into their music - The Beatles will stand the test of time.

I LOVED how this part ended. My sixteen year old niece, after years of hearing her 20+ year older uncle (me) praise The Beatles, finally has gotten into their music. YES, they are impossible to beat. Viva Kilbey.

Really thoughtful and interesting Steve. I have always bought and paid for your music and buy as much I can reasonably afford of the music of bands I dig.

I'm a musician. When I was a kid, I would spend half my paycheck every week at the music store. And I still buy records. I think music should be free, but that musicians, artists and people in general should have an easier time making a decent living . The UK used to, and may still, have programs for musicians to get public assistance for something like a 3 year stretch. Not much money but enough to live and buy enough equipment to get started. I don't care if it's funded through government, kickstarter or something that does not yet exist.. But society would do well to support it's creative people

+Matt Clark Sorry Matt I don't agree. But I do think we should have the choice how our music gets out there. No matter what... we created our music (More than likely) like a painter. Should all art be free? I don't think so. It's a bit more complicated nowadays don't you think? All the major record companies are pretty much gone except one big one (UM or whatever that big one is). 10 years from now it will be interesting to see what happens. 20 years maybe not interesting but better or worse.

Early Beatles has always been my favorite. Their artsy, druggy stuff felt tired and forced to me in comparison. I'm usually alone with this opinion among Beatles fans.

The late period Beatles ' music was possibly created by a different group of people inside a studio esp . when you examine who is "Paul McCartney" today and who was he in 1965.The truth is stranger than fiction.

@@thumbpickfingers The truth is out there somewhere. I have read three books on the subject. People do not change their height and eye colour in their mid 20's.Do some deep research and be prepared to have your mind fully blown. Meanwhile most people in the Music Biz know the truth .
