Steve is right.....except, if the price continues to go higher the shorts will be crucified. The banks cannot take the losses. Look for a force majuer before the correction Steve believes will happen. Thus allowing true price discovery. Also Steve needs to dump Silver institute which are Metals focus numbers, because we now know that Solar power takes 80mg of silver per watt in the topcon panels. When he does the math he will obviously change his opinion. Not to mention more power equals more silver in the new generation panels.

Metals markets are not perfectly competitive because there are a limited number of natural sources to mine. If demand for metals increases enough, price can settle substantially above production cost, with the difference providing mining company profits.

It was recently reported that the Saudis had recently secretly bought 160 tons of Gold. That would be 160 tons x 32,000 oz x $2600 = $13.3 billion. What I see as important there is that this was recent, not back when Gold was $2,000.

This solves the problem with electronic fiat cryptocurrency not being a real world assets.
