BEST WATCHED AT FULL SCREEN. . . Grief was all too evident throughout the funeral in Wales on 12 March 2015 for Steve Strange, frontman of the 80s synthpop band Visage. Members of Spandau Ballet and Boy George were among the pall-bearers attending the service at All Saints Church, Porthcawl. Sax player Steve Norman and singer Boy George gave addresses.
Shapersofthe80s.com videoed the key moments and has assembled this commemorative report, “A Strangely Steve Farewell”. Alas, sound quality in the church was a little flaky! You can read the full text of both eulogies at Shapersofthe80s.com - wp.me/pE8aS-2V0
Also there, all on one website, is the tidal wave of tributes from the original Blitz Kids that have flooded in for Steve Strange since his death in February. Plus eye-witness reports from the 1980s, the New Romantic era of UK youth culture.
For a kaleidoscopic cult history of the Blitz Kids who led British street fashion visit Shapersofthe80s...
