He followed me onstage and he was as KIND and HUMBLE to me as anyone could be. He kept telling me how good I was at the Bues, and how Great my tone was. I let him use my real 64 Vibro Verb, and he Burned the joint to the ground! He's a SUPER NICE GUY to everyone that he meets! Dennis Dullea

Are you kidding man? Steve Vai talks about his ego and what a wanker he is, he believes he is the greatist guitarist ever, just like malmsteen. Steve makes no bones about, he doesnt have to, he believes he is the best and he has written it down and he says no one else could play it, malmsteen is full of himself, satriani doesnt have the patients and he goes on to say he can play it but his dexterity wont be able to pull it off if he waits too long. If that aint an ego I dont know what is. He isnt humble but he is first to admit it

You're very right, Eric!!! All these Great guitarists are, actually, great guys. Had a luck to meet many of them: Gambale, Vai, Satriani, Henderson, TJ Helmerich, Garsed, Luke, Landau, di Meola, Timmons, E. Johnson, Don Mock(he helped me a lot to make interviews with these guys) Don is the man!!!!! And, only one who was an asshole is Yngwie....oh, God..When I said how much I like Westcoast pop/rock/fusion(Jay Graydon, 80s Toto era and so so many similar L.A. based musicians), all of a sudden, he started to disparage that, let's say, subgenre of pop/rock....he's said me to fuck off and left the room. I am 51 and have no words. 30 years in business, hundreds of interviews with masters of fusion/rock guitar playing, that was the only time to meet well-trained one to spits on proved good-quality music style. So weird experience.

Ricky Johnson It makes me cry how true that is. I've been playing for almost ten years and I've just recently started to grasp quality improvised soloing abilities. also, when you hand it to them, it suddenly sounds like them no matter what guitar it is.
@naegleriafowleri767 жыл бұрын
the phrasing sounds the same, maybe the way they hit notes, alters the tone SLIGHTLY, but the MAIN tone which is caused by the guitar and amp, remains the same, regardless of who touches that guitar. A guitar player is not a magical being that will suddenly make the main tone sound different, it won't happen, this is the biggest myth and load of crap in the guitar playing world "IT COMES FROM THEIR FINGERS" the biggest bullshit ever. The fingers are not some magical parts that can alter the tone completely. The main tone remains the same, but it sounds different, because his technique level, phrasing, nuances, etc are different from another player. Have steve play one single note, and the andy play the same note, without any embellishments, no vibrato, nothing, it will sound EXACTLY THE SAME
