His tech is a guy named Thomas Nordegg who lives in LA. Awesome dude. If there's a way to hook anything up, he will hook it up. He can dim the lights in his apartment from his guitars and he has THE biggest damn pedalboard rig in his living room. Just a truly awesome guy. And he truly loves the tech gig. this is what you show people when they say Vai has no feel and just plays a million notes per second. truly amazing and emotional and the orchetra just helps everything. definitely my favorite version of the song maybe my favorite song but i didn't fully apreciate it untili heard this video. One of the many reasons i love this man and his music
@manuelpedrosd2 жыл бұрын
It's not just the million per second notes and the lack of feel (Gilmour has more feel in three notes than Vai in 300), it's his tone, that sounds crap, and the fact that he doesn't adjust his tone along the tracks. He always sounds the very same

What blows me away about all of these virtuoso guys and gals is *not* the fact they have the technique and skill to play the notes.... but the fact they actually *wrote* such beautiful and wonderfully complex music in the first place. Playing it 99% note for note live is equally as jaw dropping. Thanks for the vid !

The state of outer expertise is a reflection of the inner love and devotion and practice a disciple has for the love of his master, he love of the instrument,love of the creator at His lotus feet.

@piotrhobbysta56146 жыл бұрын
Don't make "hinduistic" sects propaganda, OK? You have no knowledge of real meaning of the term "lotus feet" and its origin. It has nothing to do with India and hinduism! This term stems from ancient China ! BTW it's rather very bad custom of making women foots very small binding their foots! Sing your "hare krishna" yourself at your home!
@CaptainBohnenbrot6 жыл бұрын
I have to correct you. Yes it's a terrible thing done to women. But the term is older than that. In chinese mythology lotus plants were thought to be the feet of a celestial being. Therefore Lotus feet are the feet of god. Later the term was also used to describe basically the deformation of womens feet.

Every single note he produces has a meaning to him, even those we listeners may find out of tune or not in place, which is why you will rarely see Steve improvising his compositions as opposed to many others who stray from original including Joe Satriani respectfully. Steve is simply another level composer and had he played a violin or piano several centuries ago he would probably be considered as one of the greatest composers ever.
