In my head I thought my word choices were, Ya, Ok, Right, uh-huh, or your a god among men. So guess what I went with. lol Plus I wanted to tell him why he is one of my Idols, and then he caught me off guard with the "I know You" comment. The shock ended two weeks later.

Comment Highlighted if I could get sponsored by any company I’d hope it would be Ibanez.
@comment.highlighted4 жыл бұрын
@Daniel Rodriguez Great choice. I have always been into Ibanez guitars ever since the original RG-550, RG-570 & RG-770. Throughout the years I have been blessed to own a couple JEMs, PRS Custom 24s, several Gibson Standards and Customs, Fender Deluxe & Elite, Charvel San Dimas Custom Shop, Jackson SL-1 & SL-2, Washburn N4, (all great American made guitars) because I had a small recording studio. If I had a choice to have only 1 guitar... it would be my Ibanez RG-4570Z HBK. It’s a Super Strat for a reason. I can play everything from Blues to Metal and not have to compromise on anything. That Edge Zero Tremolo with the Stabilizer is fantastic for stabilizing string bends. I know people complain about Ibanez having thin necks, but to me it just feels more efficient. That’s just my personal opinion 🙂
@DanielRodriguez-eh1qd4 жыл бұрын
Comment Highlighted nice guitars. I’ve had a RG570 since 1998. Those original wizard necks are my favorite. This was my second guitar but my first good one, $609 with a case. I went into the shop with my mom to buy a Jackson Dinky but turns out they would have to order it so while they’re doing that I browse around the shop and immediately all in love with the RG570. I canceled my order and got the Ibanez instead and man am I glad I did. 22 years later and it’s still my my favorite. If I could get my own custom model: RG neck thru with original wizard neck, ebony fretboard, stainless steel frets with the prestige fret end treatment, offset blue glow in the dark dot inlays, original edge trem, H-H pickup configuration, three way blade switch, two volume, no tone controls and a nebula style color shift finish.

If I could describe Steve Vai in one word it would be Pragmatic. He is so sensible and modest. Yeah I'm sure he had his moments of ego back in the 80's but you live and you learn and it shows in this interview.

The Legacy 1 and 3 are his favourites. He didn't like the Legacy 2, reportedly. IIRC that was a Ben Fargen design, and for whatever reason he didn't get along with it and went to the 3, but still used the original Legacy I live and in the studio along with it.

I have been a Guitar player for 35 yrs. spent many yrs to become the Guitarist I wanted to be . I have owned lots of Amps & Guitars over the yrs . But I have never played through a Pro Rack system like whats behind them .With my experience I wonder how my style would sound like through a real Pro system ?? My practice amp is a Blackstar 10 watt V2 and I have a patch that I use to play the Crossroads Vai parts and to my ear it sound damn close or as close as Im gonna get with that Amp & my Guitar lol . Oh well maybe one day but then again I gig maybe twice a month and sometimes do studio stuff for a friend but not sure I would use that setup to its potential ever ...
