After only a year, Culverhouse traded Young to San Francisco because he foolishly chose Vinnie Testaverde in the draft. Frisco got the best of that deal. Young sat on the bench in Frisco for years while Joe Montana finished out his career. Young would take the Niners to a Super Bowl, but it was late in his career. Young had went to the USFL league out of Brigham Young College, but Tampa still had him as their pick in the draft, so when he came back to the NFL, he had to go to Tampa. That’s probably why they traded him, because he had snubbed them by going to the USFL for unrealistic money. Every player that went to that league for the promise of huge money were never paid a fraction of that money, but pissed off a lot of teams who had selected them in the draft. It ruined a lot of careers, but Young was eventually able to get his chance and ended up with a the Hall Of Fame career.
