Let me know if you ever had one of these or something like it!

I've got a few of those Sharp organisers, but living in the UK we had the legendary Psion PDAs. I still have my Psion Siena and it amazes me what it could do all those years ago

Oh my god I had one! I donated it a few weeks ago.

I picked up a Sharp YO-310 over ten years ago at a flea market for next to nothing like most who read this. I grabbed it since it looked pretty unique item and seemed to represent how things evolved over the years. I appreciate your time in making this video, I had no idea how this thing works or it’s history which is a major draw for me when I buy older electronics. When I was in school I bought a small Casio credit card size calculator which worked great.

Back in the day only the rich kids in my high school had these (and pagers). God I lusted after them so badly... well, the organizers, not the kids.

I had one of those back in the day, long lost now. I thought it was amazing back then, but now it seems prehistoric. I also had a small chess computer that had red LEDs to tell you which piece to move!

When I was at school in the early 80s I had a part time job and loads of spare cash so I would buy a new calculator or digital watch every couple of weeks... Wish I still had them.

I recently found a Casio SF-9350. I ended up trying it for work, and you know what? It's brilliant I put my daily gigs in the schedule with the address and the contact information. Use the memo for stuff I used postit notes or notepad for. The dumbness of the thing is for me an advantage, just quickly turn it on in an instant, look at the stuff you or take a quick note, turn off and shove it back into your pocket. The password protected secret area function is great too, can't hack an offline device. To access the funcions takes only a buttonpress too. Honestly, I wish there were modern versions of these things. Didn't realise that I don't want everything on the same device or online for that matter

Honestly I love and miss the simplicity of it I also remember my parents having an electronic Rolodex, I think. I have vague memories of it but I remember it flipped open and the keys had a rubbery feel to them

Definitely! I have one of those as well from them. I have a Franklin one as well. They are some of the last affordable things you can collect!

Apple could buy the patent for these from Sharp, slap their logo on the front and call it "Iorganize", charge $400 then sell out in under 5 mins.
@Henfredemars2 жыл бұрын
To be fair that is a massive ROI for investors.

I had a Casio B.O.S.S (Business Organizer. Scheduler. System). Does this Sharp have an eeprom?

I was still a bit young to have them when they were on their way out but someone gave me one instead of throwing it away. No idea if it was exactly this one or not, just that I'm pretty sure it had a similar layout.

I have this Packard Bell 128K unit that I bought recently online, and it was like this Oregon Scientific 64K I had for a short while back in 8th grade, and it was awesome, it had the screen on the lid and it not only had your basic schedule and contacts apps but it had some weird apps that I only seen on that model, one being a digital adding machine and another task app devoted to auto maintenance where you could keep records of things like oil changes and other maintenance and repairs if you had a car, I probably would have still had that one by now if I didn't doom it to a watery grave in the summer of 2000 sadly it never got to see high school, it seems like to make up for that I should go back to university lol
