I've had a R2A for a few weeks now and it's fantastic, you forgot the tripod connection under the unit, I have mine on a table top tripod so I can adjust the height it stands for more comfortable testing. Great bit of kit and it just works. Good quick review Steve and to the point ;-)

@@airgunology indeed Steve, it couldn't have been much to have incorporated averages, mins, Max's, std Devs etc into the app. Suppose they just wanted to get it out there quick. At the moment I just cut and paste the shot string into a spreadsheet to calc the info. I'm sure version 2 of the app will have all that we want, and maybe a ballistics app.

At least it is an app update which is easy. Unlike bios of hardware updates. Fingers crossed they do it soon, as a programmer, they have all the data and it is not difficult.

Steve, would be very interesting to fire a pellet through the combro (I have a blueshot lead linked to my mobile app and it's very good imo) LMBR & the FX as this can be done at the same time. Then check all the readings. Not sure if you still have a combro but you can borrow mine with the blueshot lead if you can get an FX too and see what the outcome is.

Very good but I have noticed you must be square on to it every shot or you will get inaccurate readings

As with every chrono you must be square. If not then then due to the angle you are shooting at slightly longer distances between the sensors. Only the ones on barrels eliminate this.

Hi Steve have you ever tried the skan That’s what I use and it’s a cracking piece of kit Some say it’s what the police use But about £100 dearer than the lmbr

Hi Steve, I’m confused by your Red Wolf. Are you shooting a left handed gun from your right shoulder in this video or is that how they’re designed. It looks like you’re cocking the action with your left hand which appears to be the opposite of what I do on my hw110.

I am right handed and moved the cocking lever to the left side. It means I can cock the rifle and still keep the rifle stable in the shoulder as the left hand is only a supporting hand. Brilliant for range work and quick firing without moving position

According to my calculations ( and I've had a few cans btw ) I've worked out that " big red " is kicking out ( there about ) 0.00247 ftlb .. get it back too daystate for a refund .. 11.5 t per second ..LOL That's with a 8.44 grn pellet

Eh..... A year ago I would have said that this is a good value and worth looking at. However, since then FX has introduced it's new radar unit which is not only small (no worries about scopes or hitting the damn thing), lighter and cheaper, but has far more functionality capable of recording many more shots and transferring them to your phone or computer with no cables. Good review, as usual, but not timely enough IMO.

I would agree once the FX unit is fixed in terms of it's badly written and buggy app code. I will get one soon for review.

@@airgunology Got the FX chrono on Wednesday this week and sent it back on Friday! Just didn't work anything like it should, kept missing shots even though the gun was in exactly the same place! Also the last 10 shots recorded were different to what was shown on the main display, was always 0.2 fpe different. The app is really poor too, not at all intuitive and felt unfinished. May try again when the chrono and app have been thoroughly tested!

Hi all I can honestly say that the new FX chronograph is rubbish. My channel partner and I are sending it back and getting the LMBR. The FX chrony is so inconsistent in the results because you have to have it in the perfect place every shot. Otherwise you get erratic readouts with a huge difference in the previous shot. It's awful. Also how do you know when it's in the perfect position. You take a shot hoping your in the correct position then cock the rifle moving the barrel slightly and get different readings. A load of s***! (Sorry). Save your time and money and don't bother. All the best...

@@NateGunner74 Seen exactly the same on all led type chronos even those that are IR like CED M2 and Caldwell. Depends what light is fed to the things, worst Combro followed by the slanted front Polish thing. Bought a Polish LMBR pretty good in the few days had it 4 years ago inside and out, a customer shot it.

When it is switched on I get 8 blocks of pixels. No amount of button pressing seems to get it to work so it went back to Blackpool Air Guns and they have sent it back to Poland. At least it had the good grace to break in the first year!

Very accurate and the manual tells you the distance to place the barrel from the chrono. I would trust this over the FX chrono that will give different answers depending on where you place it.

it wont blow the other to pieces .. some chrony.s are confused by smoke ! even dieseling airguns give error readings on older models .. this is about the best to date .. but itl last for tiiiiime

This chrono is very simple and easy to use. No light issues and less risk of shooting it due to the size / design.

hi buddy , I have the new fx chrono radar ,.if you think the price is odd ball on yours , the reading on the screen on my chrono , does not show what the voice tells you from the phone app, work that out.it reads aloud out 557 ft per second and 562 might show on my mobile screen, ha . £149.99 plus postage. not good

Not had that problem with mine. I have 2 criticisms though, the tripod supplied is winky wanky and the phone app is only in portrait mode. When I ordered a new tripod I noticed the one they supplied cost £1.50😄
