530 for a mecha quartz is outrageous. Your review was very thorough and thoughtful. Never seen nor heard of non-finger print coating. The packaging is top notch and unique. That is an absolutely beautiful watch! Tachymetre: used to measure speed over a fixed distance measured in kms. So, let’s say you are travelling and it takes you 30 seconds to travel 1 km. If you stop the chronograph at the thirty second mark you will see the tach reads 120. So you are travelling 120 km per hour, if it takes you 30 seconds to travel 1 km. Useful for racing cars hence why a lot of them are on sport models that are driving inspired Meca quartz movements are amazing. Fantastic watch!!!! Great find
@AliasEveWatches3 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for the explanation! It makes sense now. Sounds like it's only useful if I have a place where I'm sure the distance is 1 km. 😁
@MirrlyonTime3 жыл бұрын
@@AliasEveWatches well as long as you know the distance you can do math, which I’m terrible at. But say it takes someone using 15 seconds to go 100 metres, and I hope I actually explain this correctly lol. The tach reads 250. Since 100 is a tenth of 1000 (or 1 km) you would know how fast you are going by dividing 250 by 10, which would be 25 km per hour. As long as you know the fixed distance between two points of measurement you can do the math to figure out the speed. Try it in a car, it’s kind of fun to do (but not while you are driving haha)

A tachymeter is very simple to use. It's to judge approximately how many of something you can do in an hour. So let's say you're doing something for work you start the chronograph as soon as you start what you're doing. Then stop as soon as you're done then let's say it took you 15 seconds then you look on the meter and there will be a number. My chronograph says about 250/260 ish so that the approximate number of things you're doing you can roughly do in 1 hour

Thanks for watching! 😄 I don't know much about Jacques Lemans 1-2068L but judging from the listing, I like the green and gold combo and it looks classy with the brown leather. However, im not fond of the font used and the use of mineral crystal (vs sapphire). I can't find any specific info about the quartz movement if it's a seiko mechaquartz. Great video. Regarding people that whines about mecca quartz and wanting mechanical chronograph movements instead - well, unless buying a chrono with that now classic Sea-Gull movement - be prepared to prices way, way, way (did I mention way?) above this. At least that I am aware of? For me an i.e reliable Seiko mecca quartz chrono movement is a perfect combo of a sweeping chrono hand without the annoying typical "missing indicies features" a pure quartz chrono usually has, and an affordable price which most mechanical chrono movement doesn't have IMO. And this is coming from someone who loves mechanical/automatic movements (but also adore stuff like VK31 movements). Keep up the good work, Eve.

I risk to sound unsupportive, and don't get me wrong - I understand your enthusiasm. But... For me the (only) best thing about this watch is that movement. With the new price tag of over 500$ it would not just be hard to swallow, but would make no sense to buy. The package is nice (faux leather?) but it's just that - package. Only you will see and use it (if even). If given a choice to buy a Chinese chrono for around 350$ I'd rather get a Sugess with Seagull mechanical chrono inside (at least it's a true vintage movement).
