Boss RC-600: Different track lengths solved? (PART 2 of 2)

The rhythm sync may not be working because the rhythm source was still running. I could not tell if it was disabled after you recorded the track. It seems to work fine for me. You can almost do the same thing (but yours is little more flexible) by setting start play to MEASURE, setting SINGLE on tracks 2 and 3. This will always keep the loops in time with the track 1. Your method is better because you can restart the tracks at any time. This method doesn't required reassigning the buttons and still restart loops but it will wait until the end of the measure for the other track to start. Hello Everyone! I have a question, I am using an RC 600 and I would like to configure it like pressing record on track 1 and after I finish recording would I press track 2 recording so it would keep and play the recorded loop on track 1 and then start recording immediately on track 2, but after the track 1 circle has ended it would start overdub on track 2 (where I just pressed recording before so I don't have to press recording 2x to record and overdub on track 2). Is that possible to have a fix bar/loop length to start overdub on the next track after the track 1 has finished the loop circle? Is it possible to synchronize the 2 tracks bar length together?

As you know, this is not anything I do personally, but from watching your videos I have a couple of questions, one relating to part 1 and one to part 2. With the method in part 1 can you have two percussion parts with one assigned to verse and one to chorus, so you would shift switches over one position to the right to make track 2 the second percussion and track 3 the verse etc? Second question which relates to part 2, can you use the dub feature to add a second layer to each loop? I was wondering if you could record a 9 bar dub over the 5 bar loop and then switch to the verse at any point that works with the initial loop if that makes sense?

Hey, good questions. I haven’t looked at all the variations, but I believe you could not put the percussion on track one but instead just put it on track to and put a different one on track three. Maybe you could use more buttons to accomplish that. And for your second point, yes, I meant to illustrate that you can still overdub on these tracks. They’re not locked in. You can still click the buttons two and three to add overdubs

Hey, I wish I could help, but I’ve actually never done that. I’m not the total expert :-) But there is a Facebook group. If you search Facebook for boss RC 600, you will find a ton of experts there who know everything. Give that a shot!

Thanks! And actually, I think I figured it out. I just posted to the Facebook group about it. I’d love her some people to try it and confirm, but … Unlike my video, where I kept recording track one that was shorter than the other tracks and consistently got bugs, I realized that if tracks one and two are the SAME length, you can turn on your rhythm (drums, click track, etc.) in the 600, and everything works fine. In my video, tracks one and two were different lengths. In fact, I think as long as the first is equal or longer to the second, you should be fine, but I’m not 100% sure about that.

@@SteveGuitar I see the issue with non-matching track lengths crosses into the RC600 as well as RC500. Auto lopp sync stuff. I find that when I choose 16/32/8 bars is good, and 12/6/24 bars are good together. It seems like a math issue and having to have divisible track lengths.

Sorry to hear that, Marta. Multiple people have confirmed that this method works for them. Could you re-check every setting I show in the video here? Also, make sure your rhythm light is turned off completely, not flashing.

You’ll have to clear all of your loops, turn off that rhythm light, and try it again with all of these settings. You’ll want to clear out your loops first though for sure, to start with all blank tracks.

I got to 10 minutes and you’ve demonstrated the results we want but you have not shown us how to get loops of different lengths. The title is misleading. Will search for a video to show us the settings
