Lol, 4:33 is William III of Orange. He wasn't alive during the Dutch Revolt and became king of England in 1688. His great grandfather led the Dutch Revolt

The Battle of Lepanto (1571) only stalled Ottoman expansion into Europe. Don't get it confused with the Battle of Vienna (1683) which actually quelled the Ottomans from the continent.

Henry of Guise was never actually the king of France. The Holy League had just become so powerful that he had effective control over the nation, so Henry III orchestrated his assassination.

you mentioned that Hery's family were responsible for the Vassy massacre, while Henry of Navarre's family was not responsible for the Huguenot massacre at Vassy (1562). The massacre was instigated by the Catholic House of Guise, who were rivals of Henry's Protestant-aligned House of Bourbon.

Interesting stuff. The Huguenots had a strong base in the south and south west

Is the event where all the Huguenots were massacred the inspiration for the Red Wedding in GOT?
@libbyrant13038 ай бұрын
I think the inspo for that was the abbasid massacre of the umayyads in the early islamic caliphates. They basically had a big feast from what I remember and then slaughtered all the important people
