Steve and Carol Mills visited me and my family when I was a young juggler in high school. They were in town for some performances, so we got together. We juggled and played tennis together in my backyard, and went out and played a round of golf together. I was pretty good at all of those things, especially the juggling, and so was he. Doing Mills' mess WITH STEVE MILLS in my backyard? I'll never forget it. When we played tennis I remember being impressed with how Steve could bounce a tennis ball on his head seemingly forever and so effortlessly. And he was so excited to get out on the golf course. Just a fun guy to be around. To this day, my wife's favorite juggling pattern is Mills' mess. Whenever she says to someone, "show them how you can juggle" she adds, "show them that crazy pattern you do." Steve Mills is a juggling legend.

Love it. Personally I like vids like this and of the old school jugglers, all of those black and white videos. A lot of todays technical juggling just doesn’t have the same affect.

We don't need skilled jugglers as much as we need entertaining jugglers. Steve ticks both boxes for me! His mistakes make him more approachable and inspire me to keep working on my own skills.

Don’t judge him by this video. That’s like judging a soccer player once they retired. Actually, in the 1970’s and 80’s, Steve was a monster. He could run 7 balls for 2 minutes and execute 8 rings in practice. 5 clubs he could run for several minutes with no drops. He had one of the best three torch routines I have ever seen. Doing Albert throws over his shoulder 36 times clean. His 5 ball routine was solid. Steve was very strong. He could bench press 400 Lbs and military 300. In this video he’s probably in his mid 60’s. I see him doing back crosses with 3 balls in this video and he’s injured. But as you can see, he’s clean. Steve rarely dropped in any of his routines. Rest in peace ☮️ Steve.
