Commentary often overlooks his seamless effort in setting screens/boxing players out in the paint/forcing opposition players to crowd around the rim in the hopes of stopping Adams from securing a 2nd-chance play, usually in favor of talking about the shooter or someone else having easy access to the rim for a bucket. I would still like to see the Grizzlies playmakers utilize his positional play & eagerness to roll off screens to the rim a bit more. Since his departure from OKC his stats have taken a gradual slump, with the Pelicans underestimating just how much more devastating his contribution to the team would've been had he not had to have taken a back seat among the talent surrounding him & the coach really stifled Steven's genuine aggressiveness & ability to find the easy buckets inside the paint by focusing more on structuring his week to week game plan around the likes of Zion, Ingram, Alexander-Walker. Adams stays consistent & hopefully avoids niggly injuries, and the Grizzlies can only get better on the road to the play-offs. Mans a Beast on the court, and a gentle giant outside of it. He deserves even more recognition & love, than he currently gets!

It’s literally the little things like this video which shows how one player doing something that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet that can make everyone on the team better. It’s like a star running back having great blockers and you wouldn’t believe the impact those blockers have until you put them in your offense. But yeah I was wondering how did the grizzlies become so good all of sudden and I see why

Might be an unpopular opinion but i reckon if steve was on a team with some like top tier scorers that can land shots with the tiniest bit of open space he could contribute so much more. Like if steve was on golden state he could create just enough room for steph or klay to drain threes with some of his touch screens. For instance in this video the screens and box outs he set on jokic in the paint are great because it gives shit tons of space for Ja but the screens he sets on the perimeter dont get utilized well enough because the shots dont always go in. Still using him better than new orleans tho XD
