Man, just those first few chords, and I'm 5 years old again, on the road with the rest of my family to visit our extended family in Oklahoma. Back then, I understood this song in a more literal sense, and now I understand it by the longing for my heavenly home with God. I discovered Steven Curtis Chapman when I was a junior at Texas Tech. It was the mid 1990's, and his music carried me through many good and hard times. I like his earlier stuff better, but I guess that's just me.

I love this song - but Heaven isn't our home, not really. This world isn't either. Yet. The New Earth is where we'll finally and truely be "home"... when Heaven AND Earth unite and - this is the most amazin to me - The Father! moves address and comes to dwell amidst his children...
