This is the reason I seek out accurate information on youtube and other sites - because the old, tired media outlets absolutely enrage me. I can no longer tolerate them normalizing all of this insanity. Regarding the family court system - I had a very scary brush with them when my son was small. It had taken my son over a year of being away from his abusive father to tell me about abuse he had been told by his father to keep secret. I took him to therapy and he eventually told the therapist, who reported it. Then they sent someone to interview my son and she sat down, having never met my son, and expected him to tell her all about what had taken over a year to tell his own mom! It was ruled an unfounded accusation. Fortunately my ex lost interest and has never seen our son since, and both my son and I feel very lucky. But, Bandy Lee you are absolutely right, it is a terrifying nightmare for decent parents and their children who get caught up in the family court system.

We have a lot in common. I completely understand what the family court system is about. I suppose we could spend days talking about our "war stories". It is war. Man-made war, as all wars are, but with children as the primary targets for destruction. We mothers do whatever we can to protect and shield them from the monolithic money-monster that is the FCS ( it is just about generating billable hours for lawyers, counselors, judges, guardians ad litem, etc. ) and we have to try to keep ourselves alive and safe at the same time. Trauma is inevitable. Many don't make it. Suicide and self-harm are common in kids who have been dragged through the sadistic "family court" system. It has nothing to do with families. It is an industry that makes massive profits from dividing families at the expense of children and their mothers. I hope you and your son continue to heal and thrive. ( My abusive ex finally died after 10 years of his war against me. My own family was lost in the fog of that war. )

Very interesting interview. Another thing that would maybe be worth mentioning is how Trump's supporters share his delusions, which creates a kind of shared psychosis.

It's so so wonderful to see Dr. Lee again! I have the first edition of The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump sitting on the table beside me right now, having been supportive of Duty to Warn from its beginning. I cannot fathom the APAs motivation for the tragic decision to gag the very people we desperately need to hear from, while free reign is given to cable shows and internet whack jobs to stoke the smoldering fires of hatred and fear for profit's sake. And I had no clue about family courts. We need you both so very much. Thank you for speaking out courageously. Priceless interview.

@Steven Your newsletters don't tell us there are videos of the podcasts on here. I just listened right through the audio, as I had wondered what Bandy Lee was doing lately, and only when you said you were holding up a book, did I remember I was subscribed here too! Google is hopeless at showing us new posts from our subscriptions, on YT. I click 'recently uploaded' and it mostly shows the same things from ages ago, over and over, and hardly anything from the sites I subscribe to! :(

I also never knew about the videos on You Tube, & I get easily distracted from podcasts as I usually am doing something else when listening to them. I now actively seek out Dr. Hasan's videos & now watch them instead of "mindless" TV & newcasts. I was in a cult. Dr. Hasan pointed me in the right direction when I sought help to get my children, and my own BRAIN out of the cult. In fact, my physical body had been OUT of the cult for several years before I recognized that my brain was still very much in it. Thank God for his books on Cultic behaviors, etc. I am proud to say I am better able to detect controlling/manipulative behaviors & groups. Even in my own private dealings with people, I use his information & tactics to avoid & protect myself from the very real, so called, "normal" people who are narcissistic & controlling. I was able to get my children safely OUT of the cult experience, even when their father, my ex- husband, got deeper & deeper involved with the cult. That was 25 years ago. He is now in a leadership position in the cult (even went for further "training" this past year). I am an ICU RN (now retired). It is ASTOUNDING to me that we have let the field of Mental Health go by the wayside, especially when it is so incredibly needed today! I am not, & never have been, a naive, uneducated person. But the cult played to my feelings of being hurt & lonely. I felt I finally I "belonged" somewhere. What a great misleading tactic for dangerous people & groups who use abusive mind control & thought stopping methods. More education & intervention is desperately needed in not only the fields of Cultic behaviors, but in the Mental Health fields! We have so terribly let treatment for Mental Health issues be buried in the nonsensical chatter of the day! It is WELL WORTH watching this podcast & reading his books. Very interesting, but yikes on the family court thing! I have some of that kind of trauma in my family. It's hard to face, but the more insight I have, the more understanding I gain. Maybe understanding can lead to healing? This is revealing a whole new world of cruelty and dysfunction. 😢

Very informative talk. It draws on the idea of critical thinking and looking at issues from many angles. If the media adopted this mode of transmitting information not just in a negative or hateful ways or grandeous ways such as concerntrating more on ratings and money then perhaps society would look at their world with more open eyes rather than just a shuttered one sided perspective.
