...and the most listenable. It might have something to do with that furious but precise approach that Steven Isserlis displays in his performance. Music designed for excess, played so well by all involved. A great concert.

I got started on Shosto some 6 moths ago ( violin concerto). Then it was #7 and next was this incredible piece. I am anxious to explore more from this composer: currently immersed in his 24 preludes…!!! It seems every piece is more… intelligent than the … previous one!
