@dcworld434910 ай бұрын
@@SlurpyPie Wanting to be known for more is understandable, but it's so silly when people get mad about the role that made them famous and the reason for why they have had success afterwards. Take Alan Ritchson he had a few roles that he was known for, but now with Reacher he's getting more offers than he could do in a life time. Imagine if he said either "why should I take the roles when you didn't think I was good enough before you saw me in Reacher" or "I don't want Reacher to be the role I'm most known for." Should he end up playing this for 6-7 seasons it will be the thing he's going to be the most known for, and it would be silly for him to think otherwise. Your most famous role is something you don't really get to pick, when Daniel Craig dies, it will say Bond. David Tennant who has done so much varied work for the past 15 years, he's the sort of actor who has practically played it all. From a kindhearted down on his luck poor man to one of the most despicable psychopath put to screen. And he didn't need to return to Doctor Who to keep being relevant, it was the other way around with the show needing him. And he understands no matter what he does for the rest of his life, even if he never puts on the suit again for another special. People will ask him about Doctor who, and it will be the first thing that is written about him. And the thing about actors who ends up playing such iconic roles that really cements them in your mind. There is the bad version of that where they end up playing that same character over and over, often because the money they get offered to do so is too good for them to turn down. Becoming a sad parody of themselves once they get too old to do the stunts and don't look like they used to. The good version and Ogg has potential to be a great character actor who seems like he always has an edge to him. And lots of actors have a good career doing character actor work where they bring the exact energy needed for the story that is being told and you hire them because of that energy. Or the third path they use that role to make people smile when they come on screen and then really amaze you with the depth of talent they have when they do something that is so different than what you know them for. I'm sure he could find an indie movie to play against type if he really wanted to.

I love how he talks about his work as a cartoon gig cause Rockstar Games has always been trying to prove that games could reach the level of movies in term of story telling but Steven doesn’t seem to take credit from his work and would rather move on. From a Rockstar Games point of view, i think this is the ideal type of voice actor you want to work with, the man killed the part, is now known as Trevor Phillips around the world (which can be quite exhausting i assume) and he doesn’t seem to care a single bit about the future of the franchise. I think people give him too much shit for not being involved with the community mainly because Ned and Solo are much closer than him with the fans so everyone’s wondering why the craziest GTA character is so distant with its role. For me, this man comes across as a class act and a very professional actor. I gotta respect Mr Ogg.

Funniest part? I have NEVER touched GTA 5. The online always turned me way off. The moment I saw "BANS FOR MONEY EXPLOITING" in my crime sim game, I just said no thanks. I know it's online and for "fairness" but if that was really the case, they wouldn't sell in game money themselves for real money. Because you know, not everyone has expendable funds to spend on video game currency on top of the game price. So for "fairness" that shouldn't exist either. So whenever they patch out exploits like that, you know it's only because it hurts THEM, not anyone else. And so stuff like that especially in the type of game this is supposed to be, made me never touch it. And realistically no one is really playing GTA anymore, they are playing mods on top of mods of the game and RP'ing. We're basically just using it's corpse to make our own fun, if that wasn't allowed it would've been dead long ago. Hopefully 6 will still allow modding, but I think we're reaching that point now. That very soon, they won't allow modding of the game at all.

Are you high? As much OR MORE as actual acting? Actual acting requires the voice AND body/facial emotions. Voice acting just needs to sound like the right emotions. It's still hard work, obviously. But comparing the two together is absurd lol. Regular acting is by default also voice acting. You need to convey all emotions physically AND verbally. While voice acting you just need the verbal. It's legitimately half. You can walk into the studio in boxers, hung over, smoking 15 joints and nail a voice acting gig you had lined up. Because your appearance or what your doing means nothing unless someone can HEAR it. A lot more relaxed I'd say.

Steven Ogg doesn't like that it defined his career, and that he is recognized worldwide as a character in a video game. He wants to be known for his roles in The Walking Dead, Emancipation, and Better Call Saul, he wants to be referred to as Steven Ogg and solely by his name. Steven will never overshadow that character, and to do it he has to become a huge Hollywood star or create the performance of a lifetime.

Did anyone else notice an awkwardness between the two guys at the end? Almost as if the interviewer was disappointed with all of his answers and Steven realized it at the end. 😄🤷♂️

Poor guy just wants to move on from GTA V. To him, he hasn't even peaked as an actor. Everything he plays is now in the shadow of Trevor, a character he can barely relate to. I hope he gets his Bryan Cranston moment where everyone knows him as the Dad in Malcolm in the Middle, and then Breaking Bad comes along. On that note, I wouldn't mind a Breaking Bad 2 reboot, with Trevor playing as a non-psychopathic character.

Judging from a bunch of interviews and a more recent podcast I watched of him, seems like an eccentric character. He is pretty cool, legit, respectful and honest. But there are some points where he seems to have complexes with his image and how video games are essentially an inferior form of art, if even that. To me it looks like he is intentionally in denial, because he hates the fact that people are so quick to associate him with a crazy type of character and what makes it worse is that being exactly that, HAS been his most successful role to date. He isn't stupid, you can tell he firmly uses the word "cartoon" to effectively disassociate himself from something he doesn't take seriously and doesn't want to be remembered as. I think a large part of of the problem here is how gaming was viewed and talked about as he grew up. He most likely finds it to be a waste of time, hence why he will never take it seriously. That's why his relationship with Trevor is so complicated, he struggles to find this medium worthwhile and has to force himself to not say anything demeaning about it.

Its a shame this didnt stick with Steven... His seems open minded about it. But i guess after 10 years of being asked the same questions, about the same character thats a literal murdering psychopath... Its bound to make anyone hate it. Its the same way some people simply hate GTA now since its been so mainstream for so long. And the re-releases

Not to say he's a bad actor, he's not, everything else I've seen him in he does fine. But he would not have near the recognition he has today and probably would not have landed some of the roles he did post GTA V had he not taken on the role of Trevor.

he got lucky in a sense with the timing, before gta 5 gta games were all pretty much standalones, and there was another one right around the corner, but with gta online and its success rockstar got lazy and stopped making games, just dlc, and now 10 years later gta 5 is the last gta game so people are still playing it and his character and it's still in the consciousness... had he been in gta 4 or either of it's spinoffs he would not be as recognized
