When I was in high school I used to do a lot of trekking around out in the desert near my house. A lot of it was ranch land so I would occasionally come across coyotes that the ranchers had downed. They would just leave them where they lie, so I would always take the pelt if I found one. One day a couple buddies and I came across a really fresh one. It was still warm and it hadn't stiffened up yet, so we decided to try some. It really wasn't bad. Their description is pretty accurate.

There will hopefully be men and women, and young and old. 5 or more people who will only know that it is wild game in the tacos. After they eat I'll get comments, and then tell them what they ate. Ill post the video here on youtube for you all to see. Wish me luck, I think Im about to loose some friends! LOL!

Skunks are the survival food. Only eat if you are dying of starvation. They taste like they smell. Cook all wild game well done and wear gloves when processing. Test with a thermometer and all the way up. Be the most careful with bear meat, as they often have trichinosis like pork.

+Dougy Lor That's just not possible with the number of coyote trappers bag but you can still use the meat as bait if you're into the "use everything you kill" hunting practice. Bones for harpoons, brains for tanning, meat for consumption or bait and liver "oil" for lure scenting. Haven't been able to find a use for most of the other organs yet.

twwarrior333 scientific theory is the highest form of evidence about the natural world, but if you don't care about that then I dunno what I can say. @MichaelMusou
@MichaelMusou 8 жыл бұрын
Starseed∞Warrior Yes that's normal. Scientific theories don't matter to me because I'm not quick to believe things without undisputable proof. People believe many things to fill the hole of the questions they cant answer but I choose to keep wondering and refusing "theories" and "fairy tales". Though I'm interested in history and old religions mythologies because they seem fascinating. Btw, you tried to say I'm racist 2 times already... I'm not. I'm white and I have no problem with any race and actually think black women are really hot. But I'm kind of against gays... because I find it unnatural and disgusting. But currently, there's bigger problems than gays.

Steven Rinella: You do realize that now the gauntlet has been thrown?! I grew up on a ranch of sorts and we killed all coyotes on site, to keep them off the livestock and pets. Now, my Dad was about as reverent a person as there was, when it came to animals and God's creation...but we left the coyotes as they lie. There usually wasn't much left come morning...they seemed to have no problem feasting on their own. With that upbringing and being a dog lover, NEVER in a million years, have I considered eating "dog". But now, thanks to you...you big jerk (I say that with love), I may have to take more than just the hide on my next predator patrol. But I have one question: have you tried Wolf yet? Here in ID, we have an over abundance of Wolves and have been encouraged to help thin them out. But F&G has me paranoid about the parasites they carry, with the verbiage used in the regs, when it comes to handling/interacting with them. And I've heard only a few stories about people trying to eat the meat...and they're always negative. As always, keep up the good work. I appreciate what you do.

Mate make sure you cook it through and you wont have any problems nothing survives. If your super scared try slow cooking a stew for a long time that kills everything period.

You can eat any mammal. Most fish and reptiles. I caught a big shad once and cooked it just to see what it tasted like. Weird texture and tasted like fried catfish skin. Not saying it's going to taste good, but it can be done.

I've eaten, coyote, bobcat, cougar, and even a Canadian lynx and all of them taste quite delicious, though I'd say coyote was the least tasty of all just in my personal opinion, cougar is by far the best of all of them

Sounds like my experience with lynx. Was at a guys house and he offered it. Had one bite, my opinion is that it wasn’t awful, but I’m not looking to kill one to eat it again any time soon. Tastier critters exist.

this week, we are hunting for yotes, and we will eat the meat... people ask why??? well in apalachian mountains people eat racoons, rats, and skunk... why not eat a cayote???

Because coyotes are canines and it is wrong. I've lived out in the country half my life, but people who never left the country seem to see coyotes as a whole different species, "yotes". It's just like eating your dog's cousin...

secret with Yote is grilling it usually dries it out more than normal, since its already a pretty dry and rich meat, use meals that cook it low and slow witha good marinate or sauce, or put it to the grind and use it like you would any other ground meat. stand alone, its not bad, but i can def see the grill cooked it a bit too much and dried it out a bit more.

Hunted Coyotes for the last 40 years.. What would cause you to even try it. Even magpies won't eat there meat unless its been 30 below for a while and they usually only peck at the fat. Gives me the willies just thinking about eatting yotie meat.

@@ryanb8151 eat the mice and rats you kill in your house then fucktard. We eat out of necessity we kill pests if someone chooses to eat it then it's up to them if they are desperate enough or not.. if not the they just served nature a free meal and nature thanks them for that.. eagles birds other predators... there is no waste only transformations it's a universal law jackarse.
