Late to the club but yes, he got one detail wrong. Sapphire doesn’t have a gauntlet. Only ruby, as shown in the episode where Steven, Greg, and garnet/ ruby & sapphire, go to the motel, at the diner part (I think) ruby wields a gauntlet (smaller than garnets tho.) sapphire, in the show has never ever used a weapon. In the show, sapphires are sort of servants or workers of higher ranks. Sapphires can see the future, but there is no proof that sapphires wield a weapon. Sapphires often have rubies to guard them, therefore no weapon needed.

I do not really find him figuring out Garnet is a fusion that surprising, not everyone caught it but the clues were absolutely there, and he happened to notice 6:44 which despite being barely 2 or 3 frames was pretty much a confirmation. But yeah how do people keep guessing the correct gems is something I never really got my head around. I do not think the show has managed to pull off a single fusion that fans wouldn't have guessed the correct name for way in advance, there's so many types of gems out there, how do you guys keep guessing correct ones?

Well, since Garnet's already revealed as a Gem Fusion, there's nothing more to say. What I wanna talk about is 'stable/unstable fusions'. I disagree with you with regards to Sugilite being a more unstable fusion that Opal. I think it's exactly the opposite. Note that in both instances where Opal appeared (Giant Woman, The Return) it takes only a little bit of panic for Opal to defuse. In Giant Woman, Opal defused when she didn't have the Heaven Beetle, and in The Return, Opal defused when she saw Steven come back. Whereas Sugilite was very adamant about staying fused, and it took her own giant flail to defuse her. Literally the whole problem in the Coach Steven episode is Sugilite staying fused and wreaking havoc everywhere. Being stable and being chaotic aren't the same thing. That's my take anyways.

Sure, Opal just defuses at the slightest sudden change of emotion, but Sugilite has a dangerous mixture of Garnet's and Amethyst's personalities, which, as shown, lead to her being extremely aggressive. Like the wikipedia page for Sugilite says, "she combines Garnet's headstrong, unwavering nature with Amethyst's desire to do whatever she pleases as well as her negative attitude towards authority. The resulting personality is a volatile mix; the resulting personality is highly unstable as well as dangerous." I think this is what he meant when he meant unstable, because Opal's personality was pretty stable.
