Really looked forward to these videos every Wednesday, sad this is the last episode of the series. Ah thanks Brett! 😃 Why did you quit?
@brettd.watson18212 жыл бұрын
@@stevenbridges A few reasons, former teammate no longer could be trusted to play with the count. If that gives insight. As well I was getting out of college and did want to have some professional experience. Card counter doesn't exactly help with corporate interviews. As well the travelling can be a bit relentless and I'm someone who likes road trips and travel. And I looked young so it really makes them question how does someone who looks 20-22 have money to play few hundred dollar hands? But it does have me questioning brushing up on my skills and re-certifying my game. I do find it funny you go D1 for down negative count. I always did P1 or N1 etc. For positive negative. Never thought of down.

And it did raise ewbrows more when they see a guy whose 22-23 who looks 18-19 betting a hand in hundreds. A benefit though is it helped me by looking somewhat legitimate for wonging in/out because I can't afford to lose or don't know what I'm doing. Where it helped to have a team with a BP to signal to that could play larger hands.

I don't work for the casino any more but the reason they hold you up is so they can take a picture of your face and put you in the system. That's why at the second casino they were already on you. The manager gave just enough time for surveillance to take the pic and write notes. Then he "let you go" because they got what they wanred

I was thinking about this as well. Could've been an older or female player, Steven talked earlier about how being a single white male in your 20s is the no. 1 counting demographic, so if you're outside those demographics they might be less likely to suspect you. I was also looking at the winnings, which are obviously subject to variance, but they're just about in the range of the other players. That could mean that even though they do more hours, they bet higher when the count is low frequently causing them to lower their expected hourly rates. It could also mean they just didn't have a great run, just a good one and their EV was actually really high and they got extremely lucky with the backoffs but unlucky with the cards.

Just binged your whole Black Jack series in less than a day. As a poker pro for 6 years, those are great fun to watch videos and very inciteful. @@timohoutop4596 Casinos only exist because of the illusion people can win the games. If $650 is going to break your casino, why not just swap out all the games for a giant hole in the ground where people can throw their money? Great job, Steve! Totally enjoyed the series, and glad that you got such a nice session in to end the season. It was funny how that one casino reacted when you decided to keep playing with countermeasures active, they totally didn't know what to do in such case 😅 I hope your next season happens soon, can't wait! Good luck, and stay safe. Cheers!
