3:58 classic pixel problem, if you look closely your face is out of focus in the pixel footage. Why? Because the amazing engineers opted to set the focus to infinity (background is crisp) and then they try to fix it in post with face unblur. This has been an issue since since 7 series and NOBODY is talking about it. For a daily user this is a huge problem as every selfie is simply out of focus! Please someone make a video about it and make Google realise the blunder they have made.

3:18 this one of the reasons why I fell in love with Pixel phones. Double press the power button to open the camera, press the volume button to snap photos, then when all is done you can easily press the lock button right away. Easy, functional, does the job. Not to mention the great photos it produces

I just ordered the pixel 8, updating from the 4a 5G so it should be a nice boost. I was a bit torn between the 8 and 8 pro but I just couldn’t bring myself to pay nearly 1000 for it (to get the 256g model). I decided to get the less expensive model. I love my pixel, but there are still a few things about the 8 series I think could be better. I figure get the base model and I will have a nice trade in phone if they make some real improvements for the 9 or 10

@@aileen8492 just a few little things, the face unlock uses a picture and not lidar so it doesn't work in the dark. The finger print reader also takes a picture whereas most other use sonic scanning I believe. They both work well enough, it's been a good phone so far. The 8 won't get access to Gemini either but I don't care about that. It has very good outside viewing brightness, best phone I've ever had as far as brightness is concerned

very good video and informative. I suggest you that if you always keep the results of phone A on left and Phone B on right, then keep it that way all the way till the video ends. Its very confusing when at one comparison iphone is on left and on next its on right and then back again in next comparison on left. Even with titles at bottom it gets confusing. Cheers.

7:25 you put "locked" mode on, which IS NOT the strong stabilisation mode. It's a separate thing. The active stabilisation is the button on the right. Locked just crops in and whatever you point it at, it will not move from that until you push it out of frame

2:56 - if iPhone 15 gives you the long exposure option post clicking, then you just treated the long exposure wrong. You don't move the camera as you click. Action pan on Pixel 8 is different from long exposure.

The answer is....Canon G7X III. Today I took my camera with friends having 15 pro and 8 pro, and both cameras are dust infront of G7X III camera (even the owners admitted ). The main differentiator was how skin tones and color + light rendered naturally with G7X vs the iphones vs Pixel.

Action mode is called action on pixel, not "locked", it's the icon next to it, with a person running. I think steven knows that, but won't show it due to the fact that it can do 1080p, 30 fps, unlike the iphone with 4k...

I will definitely make a test of the S24 Ultra's camera system once I get a hold of the phone. But judging from the launch specs I'm a little bit disappointed they went for 5x camera instead of 10x. The rest is yet to be seen once the phone is available over here

Thanks for the details review Steven. I have used Pixel 3a, 6a, iPhone 13, 13Pro and now iPhone 15. I would like to cover up a few more facts. Yes, as you said videos on Pixel looks better on first glance, but the camera fails when there's a change in exposure in frame. You can see the lighting change quickly in Android phones, whereas apple handles it smoothly. And the video quality when zoomed in is insane on iPhone. Apart from that i personally love the color tones on Pixel, its the same as the one you get in photos. Now talking about the AI features, it's not just as fast as its supposed to be. Moreover, Albums on Pixel work online only. while you can create albums, tag faces etc on iPhone offline. Meaning, you can search the gallery superfast without the need of internet. It will search as you type. Another thing which most reviewers miss out is screen brightness. I haven't tried Pixel8, but Pixel 7 appears way dimmer than iPhone 15. On a bright sunny day, i have found it very difficult to use Pixel phones. Especially when using with my DJI drone as controller. In general, i would say go for a Pixel if you take tonnes of photos and is going to use modes like Astro, Slow shutter etc. Else go for an iPhone. Pixel 3a was a great phone and was way ahead of its time in 2019, but quality of Pixels have drastically gone down when they switched to Samsung Tensor. Overall as a phone iPhone is miles ahead of Pixel, speakers, mics, audio, 5G speeds, and especially if you have another apple products, it works so beautifully together. ✌
