Steven Housden why didn't you do the chrome 21in front wheel?
@sikbaggers7 жыл бұрын
haha million dollar question my friend. I did the 19 chrome enforcer last year and really thats all I had in my budget was a 19...the 21 almost doubles in price. We will be doing a 21 here shortly though...its in the works as we speak. Kind of wished I would have waited but the 19 chrome enforcer is still pretty nice.

i appreciate the video. Being as there are not really any videos showing the disassembly and reassembly of the fork legs on '14 and up streetglides. BUT it would be a much more useful video to someone like me that has used a number of them to tackle my own bike successfully if you would have ditched the useless background music and a little more close-up video and explanation of the parts you are removing and how to re-install them. Thankfully though it because of guys like you posting such vids that it has saved me from handing ridiculous amounts of money to Harley to install parts that a mechanically inclined person such as myself could install on my own.
@sikbaggers6 жыл бұрын
Yeah man ...sorry. During the shooting of the video we didnt realize the mic was left off when we were pulling these . I made the best video I could with what I had. Also adding the images straight from the service manual to help with the parts. If you like doing your own work but need some guidance as I do sometimes....the best thing I got when I got this sled was this service manual from ebay. www.ebay.com/itm/2014-Harley-Touring-Service-Manual-Repair-with-Electrical-Diag-and-Parts-CD/142054589944?epid=536111011&hash=item21131d05f8:g:2RsAAOSw1DtXHomq this guy will send you an instant email with a PDF file you can download and will also send you a disk in the mail. The PDF is useful as you can search parts and not have to scroll through 900 pages to find what you need. And Its a lot cheaper than buying the actual book. Thanks for checking out the video.

Great video. what is the measurement for putting the forks back on? there is no stop at the top of the fork tube. Where do i get that measurement please?
@sikbaggers3 жыл бұрын
the top of the fork is sightly beveled. Push the fork through and a nickles width past the bevel. So when you're looking at it from the top you will see a nickels thickness of fork tube and the bevel.

Very helpful video with rebuilding forks and using chrome sliders. Going to do the same to my 14 limited. Have you had any interest in the American suspension front air for these bikes? They’re saying just add air piston and cap and hook it in with rear air ride. Seems like there would be more to it. Curious if you have looked into this at all.
@sikbaggers5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ryan..I have looked into the air for the front and that is what I read as well. However I dont agree with just adding it to the air tank that is there. I think I would convert my crash bar to a tank as the rear shocks already use quite a bit of air to raise the bike...I would like the front to have its own air supply. Wish there was room for another tank on my bike but im not sure I would add it at this point.

This might be a long shot but I’m doing fork covers on a 2015 street glide and pulling out the dampener 2 little springs came out instead of 1 like I’m seeing in these how to videos. Anyone know where the other small spring goes?
@sikbaggers2 жыл бұрын
Did you buy this bike used or have a progressive lowering kit installed in the past? the 2 small springs are usually included on a lowering kit..see this eBay listing and look at the picture of the side cut drawing. ebay.to/3LvcSK5 ..the middle pics show the 2 springs stacked on one another. If there are 2 equal size springs just stack them at the bottom if they came out of the bottom or one on top and one on the bottom depending on how they came out. I hope this helps you.

I'm looking to take my slider tins off and up different ones on. Cant find any videos off doing just this. Can I with out taking the wheel off? Can I just loosen the triple tree and slide them up? Thanks
@sikbaggers4 жыл бұрын
Thats not really a good idea...If you do that the entire thing comes out...both legs, wheel and all. You really should remove your front wheel...slide out one leg at a time and replace the slider can with the 2 bolts and then put the leg back on and do the other side. put your front wheel back on. The front wheel is really easy to pull.. Watch my video on the Fat tire kit, its on a road glide but its newer than this video and shows you step by step. Its way easier than fighting to get both legs and wheel all together back on your bike all at once. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4XUoWmko8qkarM

Is it just the 3 pinch bolts still that I need to worry about to take off the forks? Also Do I need to disassemble my whole headlight/passing lamp assembly? or can I get away with doing this without taking my headlights apart? Thanks in advance.

Yes the RK is the same as the SG or the RG with a lot less work involved on getting the forks out. I wouldnt think you would need to remove your headlight for the forks. Its pretty straight forward.

Hey Steve how did you line the fork up straight for your wheel and the fork height
@sikbaggers6 жыл бұрын
hey Chris...fork height can be measured from the top...where the fork sticks through the triple tree...before you pull them you can mark them or mark them with tape...marks sometimes get wiped off while doing everything else. About a 1/4 is sticking out of the top off mine...I have seen guys drop them all the way in to the handle bars just to lower the front end some. the fork lowers turn inside the fork top freely...so they will line themselves out when you install the front fender or wheel. Get the height right and then get them "eyeball" straight by turning the lower inside the upper. Put the wheel or fenderr on and itll line itself out...let me know if that makes sense...easier to show them type it out but im trying lol
