I wish I could hear that song for the first time again hahah I was a fan since their self-titled album, I was an emo teenager and I loved pop punk xD But I feel like I grew with them musically. When Younblood came out, I was into other types of music, and Youngblood was like a mix of all those things that I liked at the moment. And CALM is just pure perfection. Period.

it's funny that you're listening to them from CALM and back, as you can tell the evolution between sounds good feels good and youngblood is absolutely crazy! they changed their sound while also maintaining some older elements in youngblood but sounds good feels good was the last time they put out anything "punk pop"ish. their evolution has been absolutely amazing and they have really grown and matured as a band!

"getting older sucks...what's worse is getting older, but feeling young" When I tell you I felt that on a spiritual level, I mean it. I think that's why a lot of us resonate with the pop punk style, it's nostalgic and so honest

Just wanted to let you know that there isn't really a main writer in 5SOS. They usually write in pairs if not all together (though sometimes they individually write with other people), and this goes for both lyrics and the actual music. Seeing your reaction to Broken Home makes so much sense and I was the same when I heard it when the album first came out. This album came out in a tough time in my life and Broken Home hit too close to home for me and my parents, and it even made my mom cry when I showed it to her back then. I can never listen to that song, even like 5 years later. This whole album was my favorite album back then, and I’ve been a fan of theirs since they had their Somewhere New EP. When Youngblood came out it did come to a shock to me sonically, but at the same time it felt natural. The fans who were there for their first and second album had already matured by the time Youngblood came out, most possibly healed or were in the process of healing from past traumas or their sadness. Youngblood came at the right time for most fans as we had changed from being those sad teens to possibly being in their early 20’s or about the start their 20’s, so the shift of sound fit nicely for most of us I would say.

SGFG shows all of their talents SO well - regarding both vocals and instruments - and I really miss the vocal 'representation' (I couldn't find a better word for it, sorry) on CALM. But they have matured so much in their music and are still growing and still producing INCREDIBLE songs and jams for car sing alongs. Cannot be prouder of this band

27:40 The only thing i could think was that you should react to the live version of the song, even if it's not perfect filmed, i think you would love what they used to do with castaway *Edit* 40:52 my interpretation is that they were talking about when they made the decision of getting out of their hometown and country to chase their dreams. The tricky parts on this are when they say "Your eyes, your smile can light up the night" and " A love lost and buried here, it comes to life". I think the first one is talking about the way performing in front of the fans make them feel, and the second one refers to their passion for music. Pd. Sorry if i wrote something wrong, english is not my native lenguage

okay so for some reason, i am way too excited for this reaction and it definitely didn't disappoint at all! i knew you were going to like it and the fact that you did a lot makes me feel so stoked. i have literally watched 3/4 videos on here even for the artists that i don't know which i always end up enjoying as well, even there is some videos that i watch multiple times and enjoy every time a little more, but as a HUGE 5SOS fan, this hit home, the feels you got listening to the album made me enjoy it on a deeper level, it felt so nice to see someone sharing these feels with me, and your little reactions are adorable. the way you reacted to Jet Black Heart, damn i felt it deep in my heart this is 1 of my fav videos for sure!!! thank you thank you! we fucking love you!! Hope all the love you're receiving makes u feel less and less invisible with time, it's surely behind a screen and on the internet but it is definitely genuine and real!

i've been a fan since the self titled album. we waited so long for youngblood that i feel like we all matured along with them and the music. sounds good feels good is one of my favorite albums ever because of all of the mental health messages behind the songs. it came out during a very pivitol part of my life and i related to the album immensely. it got me through some very hard times. seeing this band evolve has been amazing because they have so much talent and can do so much. (also im about halfway through the video now and i love waste the night with my whole heart. the lyrical content of the verses i love, and the guitar in the beginning is beautiful). outer space/carry on is my favorite song of all time. it has such personal meaning to me. i wish i could go back and listen to this album for the first time again!

I’ve been a fan since SGFG! 5SOS touring with 1D and then transitioning into pop/pop rock in Youngblood was actually a great part of what made me more open to pop music. I mostly listen to pop punk and punk music but they made my taste diversify!

I discovered 5sos only a few months before this album dropped and have loved them ever since. SGFG still stands as my favourite 5sos album because it came into my life exactly when I needed it. I was going through some stuff and had some big changes happening in my life and this album anchored me. The marketing also had this theme of "it's okay if you feel lost or like you don't belong, we're here and this is a space for you" and that really resonated with me at the time. Outer Space/ Carry On is still my favourite 5sos song because it does have this hopeful feeling but it still acknowledge the pain and the struggle. I also absolutely adore it sonically. Sorry for the wall of text, but this is probably the most important album of my life and I'm gonna take every chance I get to gush about it. I'm glad you enjoyed it too even all these years after its release. From what I've seen newer fans don't seem to connect to it as much (which I can understand) and the band itself also has some mixed feelings about it I feel, but it still holds a special place in a lot of hearts and I will cherish it forever.
