To disassemble my Stevens 320, I simply remove the screw sling/barrel keeper. I leave the slide all the way forward in shooting position. I just pull on the barrel and it comes out. Then I just pull on the forward grip, and the complete bolt assembly comes out. The gun is dissembled for cleaning in about 10 seconds. To reassemble, do the opposite, but when you slide the bolt assembly, and pump action back into the gun, you have to pry out slightly on the tube magazine keeper (the little bent piece of metal inside the receive,r that keeps shells from coming out of the tube magazine until you cycle the pump action). It's very quick and painless. Give it try. That way you don't have to go through all those extra steps in your video unless you want to take the trigger housing out for cleaning.
@SpareTimeProjects10 жыл бұрын
Sounds simple enough, thanks! I just showed how to remove the trigger assembly in case anyone needed to know.
@rustykeller826410 жыл бұрын
sparetimeprojects6 I found your trigger assy removal informative. Thanks. I've heard that 320's have a nasty habit of breaking internally. Usually, broken operating rods that are only tack welded to the pump tube. I took that part of mine apart today, and one of them was broken. It had separated where it was tack welded. I got out my wire-feed welder and welded it back on, and also welded the unbroken one. What ever else fails on the gun, I don't think the operating rods will ever fail again. I'd suggest everyone disassemble their gun and take a look at those. If they are only tack welded, weld them, or have them welded for some peace of mind about the reliability of their shotgun.
@SpareTimeProjects10 жыл бұрын
Rusty Keller I'm glad my video may have helped you out. I know what you are talking about because I remember thinking it seemed silly to not just completely weld them instead of tacking them. This is definitely a cheapy shotgun, one of many I’ve owned, and is actually my only shotgun at the moment. They’re prone to breaking, they sometimes don’t hold shells well, like to double eject shells, and the stock will occasionally loosen. Despite all that, I love mine, treat it well and do regular maintenance. If you can afford better, then buy better, but I spent 145$ for mine and at that value I don’t mind a little extra maintenance/TLC.

To remove the cam pin in the bolt, you can insert a punch through a small hole in the top of the bolt and tap or push it out -Warning: it is a bit of a PITA to reassemble this if you take it apart. *Also, the bolt can be installed "upside down" in the carrier body, which means the extractor will be on the wrong side. This will make the gun to load and fire normally, but cause a shell to become stuck in the chamber after firing

Actually almost all guns are designed to disassemble, tapping it out from the left, then, insert the pins back in, from the right. You are correct on that.
@jimfields4393Ай бұрын
There is a small hole in the top of the bolt. If you line up the rotation pin with the hole, it will punch right out. Be prepared to capture the larger spring behind it when you pull the punch out. When you reassemble, you have to line up the hole in the rotation pin with the direction of the firing pin. Easy peasy lemon squeezey.

I'm sure there is a way to disable it, but I'm not sure how you would do it. Personally if I didn't like a safety on a gun, I just wouldn't use it. If you have a gunsmith or anyone disable a function of the gun, you hurt the resale value significantly. Just my opinion, sorry I can't be more helpful.

@SpareTimeProjects10 жыл бұрын
Thanks, glad I could help! I'm not sure, but I think the plug in this gun is more of a stop than a plug. By that, I mean that it might just keep the shells from pushing all the way to the end of the tube, and another 2 3/4 shell wouldn't fit in the tube even if you took it out. I could be wrong but that's what I am thinking. I'm not near the gun to be able to check though.
