Apart from mechagodzilla from heisei, it was spacegodzilla that I wanted the most from monsterarts. Even though it is an old model, it's articulation still holds up even today. I'm happy I managed to get him, although he should have his beam effect (and be a bit cheaper) I hope they make a new Godzilla 1994 with improved articulation someday

Renewals are nice for figures that are 10+ years old but there are SOOOO many Toho Kaiju we haven’t gotten because they focus on squeezing the lemon till the last drop with certain Kaiju. I sort of feel like that’s the case since it’s a Toho Kaiju rather than Legendary. SHMA have been doing decently with the Toho figures, there’s just that notoriously big shadow of their Monsterverse kaiju

Back when I unboxed this figure, one of the spines had snapped off in the box. Is there a specific kind of superglue that would work best to reattach it, without damaging the figure overall?

For the US price $85 dollars in 2012 yields $117 today per the Department of Labor and Statistics. You could have bought Space Godzilla for $135 from Eknightmedia. So, purely from the US perspective they charged an additional $18 just because they could. It’s not THAT bad, but they could have just given us the same price plus inflation. At least throw in the Corona Beam and a couple of crystals for the $18.

I have said i want a new, reworked 62 forever, not a repaint. Articulation has gotten better and better and I wouldn't want the same mold if it will now cost like 90$. I want updated articulation for it. Same for 64 but that would need a bunch more stuff since its the size of a hamsters shit

I wonder what the defense would be to counter the 2019 new head this time. Let me guess, the Japanese market cares more about Spacegodzilla than Monsterverse. If it's like "oh, it's at the end of the mold's life". Well clearly Spacegodzilla's mold had been dead for almost 12 years and yet it came back with a new torso. Or same case with 2019 (but got a good ending) is G3 Gamera that got a beautiful 2.0 head and that dude issa one-time production as well. Unlike Monsterverse, G3 Gamera got no alternate color ver. and is probably less desirable by the general market. They could remilk the 2019 mold with an updated mold. Make 2.0 burning, 2.0 poster color, supercharged. Clearly the market wanted it if they've milked it more than most other Goji mold in SHMA. What's the excuse? Hey man, I don't hate SHMA, I love my G3 Gamera KDB ver., one of my fav figure I may add. "SHMA stylized their designs", ok yea they do, but at least make it good. Personally speaking, I think that SHMA's Evolved is stylized, but it's a good case of stylization. It actually look nice from all angle cuz it's stylized. Stylization isn't an excuse for a lackluster sculpt. But hey, what do I know, right? It's a sin to give any bad verdict on a product these days. As if you couldn't love something while criticizing it at the same time.

Problem is they're *not* stylized and that word is being used wrong. Stylized is Marmit, Marusan, Gigabrain, etc..., where this is coming from is Bandai's plant shill deflecting criticism. The line started out to make accurate Kaiju action figures from one of the suit designers who makes accurate* statues and model kits. Unless you literally shrink the suit down, ofc it won't be accurate. But when you have promo material saying they used direct movie references, had the person who made the suit sculpt the toy, had the CGI studio make the mold, etc... it's real 🤡 behavior to them have the defense be "well it's not SUPPOSED to be accurate!" *Sakai generally is mostly accurate, not 100%, but still good.

​@@StevensToyReviewsAgree with you on that one, man. "It's stylized" or "SH were never meant to be accurate for the poseability" truly are jail-free cards for the shills. It's rather inexcusable since they are perfectly capable of making accurate sculpts (as accurate as possible) while maintaining articulation and quality. It's not even a what-if scenario, we've seen it time and time again in the past. As recently even, with rebirth and Yu-Gi-Oh lines, and some MonHun I suppose. Even if it's straightforward humanoid design, they're capable of making it screen accurate even with the many articulation. For example, SHF Mebius got one of the most screen accurate look despite not even a shinkocchou release. And yet JJ couldn't even achieve it. "They don't communicate" well... I dunno, maybe, just a suggestion, maybe they should. Especially when it's uncharted territory for one team while it's just another Thursday for the other. With the head, a near dead mold could never be an excuse, since they themselves are the ones who gave the counter-arguments. By giving actual new sculpts to actual dead molds, one that had been buried 6 ft under for years.

SHF and Tamashii are not known for releasing new molds of figures. Goku 2.0 has been recycled forever and they're still using it for upcoming figures.

Tamashii is kinda known in for yet another 2.0 Goku. It's a meme and I think they should update to newer stuff. Sometimes repaints are good. But not always.
