0:36 Pearl’s part is just… too much. Not only is the full song an extremely complete shape chordally and lyrically, Deedee’s voice in her section is heard in rare form here. The naked mix of instruments (uke, piano, treble synth) mixed with Pearl’s signature classical/melodramatic progressions make this the best part of the song easily.

@@lmao9692because Rebecca Sugar is not a good writer. I’m sorry to say that as this show went on, it took a very steep nose dive. The Jasper Arc was just…*mwah* amazing. The reveal of Garnets reality (being a fusion) the general reality set that Steven has to come to terms with, then…everything just collapsed from there. I could go on and on about how this show consistently let the audience down, and eventually just became LGBT propaganda. Then don’t even get me started on future, because yes, whilst watching this show i kept asking “boy I wonder what would happen if Steven became an abuser” lol. Anyway, sorry tangent, point is, Sugar is not a good writer, and she def ruined the show.

just thinking about how the other crystal gems took this song that steven came up with and ran with it, adopting it as their song and adding their own mark to it. like, they didnt have to do that. they couldve just clapped politely and the. forgotten about it. but steven's song was meaningful to them, enough that they wanted to join in. looking at the plot of the whole show, it's clear that lil steven doesnt have a full understanding of what the crystal gems do at the time of writing the song. but he knows enough to write a little song about them, about his family. he loves them, he's proud of being one of them. and they love him, and they're proud of him being one of them.
