here in brazil the pilot of a football (chapecoense) team had the same problem, strong headwinds and the fuel consumption went high, he made the bet that it would be enough but arriving, there was an aircraft on priority due to another problem to dont be sued by the team he dont declared emergency and when he got the clearense the fuel went to 0 and their crashed meters from the runway killing the whole team, loved your professionalism on diverting to the safest option, cheers from brazil!

The new callsign doesn’t quite roll off the tongue like 851TB but it’s a sweet ride for sure! Congrats Steve, looks like a cool new gig. Good call on the fuel. I’m sure it suck’s having to come down from FL280 for an unplanned fuel stop, but it’s definitely not worth the risk or the stress! Fly safe.

I like your video. I grew up not going camping and stuff like that - because my dad was a Navy and commercial pilot. I grew up going to airshows and hanging out in military hangers when other kids were camping and going on ski trips. I took flight lessons but admittedly got scared away doing my stalls. My younger brother became an F-15E navigator which was fun to see him go through and sit in his plane and walk on the wings. My dad has a C172 so I've flown with him from Chicago to TX and FL. Ive reminded him his flaps were still down and let him nap while giving a little left rudder of an hour or two. Aviation is a unique experience and I'm grateful for the experience. Maybe one day I'll change my mind and get a license. It is amazing flying over the clouds.

Steve I am so happy for you brother! New job and an upgrade on the last plane you were the pilot of the TBM 850. The 850 almost seem that it was haunted with bad luck from having to lower the landing gear manually because of a failure, problems with generators and a bullet hole in the top,of the plane i was worried about your safety flying the plane. I hope Isaac knows he now has one of the best pilots in the nation. You take your flying very seriously and your knowledge with flying makes me know that one of the elite pilots is about to fly wherever your boss sends you to. Heck you could have won Top Gun by outflying Ice Man and Maverick 🤩🤩🤩😀😀😀😎😎😎. Of course I would win all the volleyball games on base with Goose as my partner lol! Enjoyed seeing you again, thanks. ILM brought back a flying memory from waaay back when I owned a Cessna 150 in the 1970s. On my way to ORL from Connecticut, ILM became an unplanned fuel stop with strong headwinds. What made it so memorable was that it was the only time that I ever had a line crew roll out a red carpet for my tiny Cessna. I probably got no more than about 15 gallons of fuel (less than $1/gal back then) and they rolled out a red carpet. Brought a smile to my face after all those years. Thanks for that memory.

Expect the unexpected is correct. Always stay focused. Would love flying with you. I would have complete confidence in your flying. So glad you got a new job flying a better airplane. With the other plane having continued issues with generator it tells me there was something going on with wiring between batteries and generator. Could be as simple as one slightly loose connection. I worked on them and saw some crazy things so simple but yet troublesome. Hope all that is behind you with the new plane.
