I don't recall if you mentioned before whether you're a CFI, but you'd make a tremendous flight instructor. Your workflow is so concise and easy to follow, it takes a lot of the mystery out of IFR flight.

I was hired at the regional airlines around 400hrs back in the day.
@mikeflippo62733 жыл бұрын
@@steveo1kinevo interesting to read that. Did you feel as capable flying regionals at 400 vs 1500? I have a feeling you did. I don’t see a problem with FOs having low time flying with captains who are obviously qualified at the regionals. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on that.
@MyChannel-bh6sc3 жыл бұрын
@@mikeflippo6273 Where I live it's quite common that people jump onto the right seat of an A320 right after the CPL at 250hrs. I think that's the case at every airline ab-initio pilot school, which are common at major European carriers.
@beaterstang08983 жыл бұрын
@@mikeflippo6273 Not speaking for anyone else here but myself. I fly freight in a Metro, mostly single pilot IFR. Sometimes we do have FO’s so we can fly longer. Most are 500 to 600 hour pilots, I’ve had some that I’d say I can tell they would make great Captains. Some, can’t fly their way out of a wet paper sack and are scared of IMC.

As a 30 airline (retired) guy, I would recommend looking out the side windows a little more. Especially the right one. Cruise climb at the higher airspeed keeps the engine cooler and the nose down to see better, as well. Choosing the visual & short apch vs. the localizer apch saves fuel and makes the boss happy. Good choice on disconnecting the a/p for visual apch to allow you to be ready for anything. Great video and superb narrative. Keep it up.

Thanks Steveo for another great video! I loved the close up of the gauges and switches during the flight. They were all very clear and really paints the picture as you talk about all the changes you must make during your flights. Just a thought..... could you do a flight with two videos. 1 being your standard (typical) flight video and vocal comments throughout and the 2nd video being non-verbal play back but just a close up camera view cockpit panel like this video had. Here is why.... I have two screens so I could have one video playing on each screen. For example we could hear you talk about "and" actually see the NG and ITT gauges during the start up. To do this you would have to indicate a point in your vocal video when we hit play on the cockpit screen video to match up with your voice video. It may not be exact timing but I have a feeling it would be close enough... at least for me. I am not a pilot but I do love everything about flying a plane. I suppose this would just bring a clearer understanding of the flight operations. Again.... just a thought or a wish of mine. Thanks again for all the content you put for us!
