Man I did speed once during university. And never again. Took away the things I love the most - sleeping and eating. Fuck that. The satisfaction from a good nights sleep and from eating something when you’re hungry - can’t beat that with any drugs. I still enjoy some pot now and again - but nothing else for me thank you. Sober state of mind is important

I like how Steve-O and Jonathan are open and honest about their past with drugs. Ive always been too ashamed to open up about my history with meth because people are very judgmental unfortunately. Meth is one hell of a drug to quit. I was addicted for many many years (along with cocaine and opiates) but I can proudly say that I am sober now and people who can quit drugs are very strong because if you can do that, then you can do anything.

The high of Meth was amazing. The low of it was death. I was high for over 4 days once on my 15 month addiction and it was the worst of the best. I used a bottle a day of Wild Turkey to bring me down. I hated psychosis and it was scary as hell. I had a regular job and tried to the best of my abilities to function during my addiction. That's what made it that much scarier. I felt guilty and knew I had to stop. I went to rehab on my own, and I've been sober for 15 months.

Korn is my all time favorite band. Jackass was my all time favorite show to just throw on and enjoy. seeing these two dudes talk about their past issues with drugs really makes me feel glad for them, and its proof that anyone could kick a habit with enough determination and support from friends and family. these two seem to be in a really good place and i hope they continue to provide a excellent example for those struggling

Jonathan Davis and Korn pretty much saved my life. All throughout middle and highschool I dealt with really bad bullying and such which were some of the subjects of his songs- I went from Metallica to Korn and I'd never heard music so intense and full of emotion before. The first few albums really helped me get through some serious issues in my school life and beyond that, even. I come back to Korn every now and again just because it's good venting music. Always dreamed about meeting Jonathan Davis when I was a kid and just giving him a hug; him and Slipknot's music totally helped me recognize and vent off a lot of anger I had when I was younger.

Meth PSA. I'm from Vancouver, Canada. I have worked in and around harm-reduction. If you or someone you know is wanting to come off meth, do the following: A) Liquids. Skim milk, hot maybe with honey. 1 day for light meth use, 3 days for heavy or long term use. After that switch to teas: Jasmine, Ginseng, Oolong, Green. Be near bathroom facilities. 2) Soup and Salads. Spicy soups can work wonders, get a nice cleansing sweat going. Have a lot of different salads. Fruit & nuts. 3) Now take Niacin, Omega 3, and Zinc supplements for a month. After all this, look into counseling.

I can relate to Steve-O saying, "I love the psychosis." Keep in mind my tolerance was super high, so don't ever try this. One time I took 15 Vyvanse and 6 Ambien. As a result, the Devil, himself, appeared behind this huge, self-made latch on the front of my door. It was about a 3ft long 2×4 that swung up and down to latch over the door. The Devil said, "Let me out." I lifted the latch, then he said, "Yes... Now everything is yours." After that he just floated up into the ceiling and out of the room. There was this other time I had an outer body experience after being up for 3 days on an abundance of drugs and taking a handful of Tramadol. After about 30 minutes of taking them, I took a hit of weed from a pipe and instantly watched my body get farther and farther away, until "my soul" shot out of existence and in to what seemed like my own dimension. At the time, in my mind, it was a space that was between Heaven and Hell. To me it seemed like I "beat the system." I've been clean for 8 years now, but will never forget the psychosis.

As a 13 kid in Middle School rocking Korn’s first album, Helmet in the Bush was one of my favorite songs. Still reminds me of childhood bumping that song in my Sony discman on my way to school. Had no idea it was actually about meth lol. I agree with a lot of the comments here…as a recovering addict hearing these stories help ease my pain and guilt. I’ve done a lot wrong and hurt a lot of people, but over 3 years clean now and just try to be the best version of myself each day going forward. That is the only way I can pay retribution for the mistakes I’ve made.

Back when I was prescribed vivanse(a type of amphetamine) for my ADD, I would occasionally have those moments of psychosis if I didn't sleep. It was bizarre seeing people or thinking something was going to happen but didn't. I thought cops were coming to kill me and were hiding in my alley or behind fences. I thought my ex gf and her best friend were throwing stuff at my bedroom window and followed them down the street. I was convinced they were playing hide and seek but no one was there. After that I have a whole new appreciation for people who deal with mental illnesses that causes delusions and hallucinations. And needless to say, I stopped taking ADD medications altogether. Wish there was a better alternative.

"cool psychosis", "I love psychosis, man!" Man, I think those statements are about the scariest things I have ever heard out of another human's mouth! For someone to actually enjoy going insane is crazy! That's some damn scary territory in my book! When you reach that razor-thin line of sanity or insanity, or that certain peak of "consciousness" or lack thereof, not everyone is fortunate enough to make it back! Steve-O is damn lucky to have made it out of that Hell as he did!

I think the thing with Steve-o IS pushing IT to that limit every damn time. IT being everything. Drugs, alcohol, paper cuts in painful places and/or all of the physical trauma he has put himself through. Hell he was on Hot Ones for a second time and hot sauced his eye. Aggressively hot sauced his eye I might add. My point is that he may have cut out certain substances but IMHO Steve-o's real addiction=Riding that razor thin apex and sometimes (intentionally) cresting over it. Maximum everything. Not judging by any means. FWIW he is also one of the most interesting people and a great interview

I actually also liked the psychosis. You are awake for days on drugs and eventually they stop working cuz your brain ran out of neurotransmitters. So you get to have a crazy psychosis where you see things and people, you hear sounds and music. It's very scary for the uninitiated. But I had done a lot of psychedelics before ever using stimulants for days on end so it was a nice bonus to finish off the journey.

He rode motorcycles his whole life but once he was no longer able to ride, he gave up. I tell people that he got into a fight with a Jack Daniels bottle because he started hitting it hard. I would get up at 8am and find him with the bottle in his hand, then in early 2019 his liver began to fail and he was told that he wasn't eligible for a transplant. 2yrs & 9 months clean and sober, 800 days off all nicotine, and 3 years celibate. The hardest things to quit were benzos and nicotine. I’ve had a few episodes of psychosis. Not fun, actually scary and humiliating to lose control of my mind. Korn helped me through some of worst times of being institutionalised. Especially the times when other patients (often my friends or boyfriends), were attempting to unalive themselves and/or being thrown to the ground by staff. We would all be confined to our rooms and completely powerless to help. I’d crank my discman up to block out the screams and crying. FLT was always ready to play.

Then I got into jiu jitsu and the only thing that was holding me back during training was I could hardly breathe. My sensei said "you need to throw those cigarettes away, I can hear you wheezing over everyone in the room" and somehow that flipped a switch in my head, I quit smoking the next day and haven't smoked in 7 years. Sometimes I miss it, but as soon as I think about how nice it would be to take a drag, I am immediately assaulted with memories of wheezing and coughing up brown shit in the morning. No thanks.
