About 10yrs ago I made one of these type of tools with a doodle pad with Velcro for pads to get behind banister spindle bars up against patio glass of a three story building. It worked great. I still use it on occasion.

I made my own out of a retired Tucker water fed brush head, added a top rinse bar. I cut off the boars hair bristles and attached a walnut pad to the strip of Velcro on the brush head.

I have been using a similar pad/rinse that has a brass 0000 pad for 5-7 years now. We scrub the frame 1st with a separate extension pole a truck brush and cleaning solution. We come back with the pad attachment on a carbon fiber pole and rinse with the brass pad in contact with the glass. The key here is having the 0000 brass pad. I think this method is superior to using a brush.....because the pad is better at removing debris.

I can't see much of an advantage over just using ur brush, has Unger marketed it for anything in particular?

I hope unger comes out with a brass pad for this tool

When would you use the pad?

Wonder how it would do with solar panels

Unless you use an Unger WFP the hose has to be in the exterior of the pole and it drives me nuts

Do you think i should try to buy a water fed pole and filter system as soon as possible?

Not sure if anyone has asked this before - have you ever put a glass coating on your personal windows (truck, house, etc)? I come from auto detailing and it makes glass hydrophobic and easy to clean. Interested in your thoughts.

@@SteveOthewindowcleaner interesting, an old-school solution. I wonder if ceramic coatings (SiO2, polysiloxane, etc) will cross over from the auto world and get picked up by trad window cleaners?

Xero really needs to start selling some bigger hose, 5/16 isnt quite enough in my taste for the new age of rinse bars. Need alot more flow/less resistance. The difference is massive between 10mm and 5/16 hose.
