Hey! I have a question for you. I started collecting fast food toys back in the early 90s. I was selective buying McDonald’s and Burger King when they would have campaigns based on the release of a movie...Aladdin, Snow White, Little Mermaid, Tarzan, Lion King, Hercules, etc. Also , all the Hot Wheels, Barbie, MacToNight,Tiny Beanie Babies, and so on. I have many complete sets where I have one set Mint in Package and one set loose. I did supplement many times with bag buys at Savers or a complete tote at Goodwill. All the toys are bagged in ziplocks and in totes alphabetically. It’s a little overwhelming and I haven’t been keeping it up nor collecting on a regular basis, so they’re all Vintage. Here’s my question... do you think eBay is the best forum to sell them? I wonder because there are a lot of sellers who don’t know about collectors; they underprice the toys; and, you don’t really sell to other collectors who are willing to pay for what they want. As you know from experience, I have a lot of personal hours into this collection... not to mention that I’m kinda attached to some of it but, I need to shrink it back. Let me know what you think... I’m interested to hear how you’d handle it. Thanks for reading! 😀

My most recent find was in a box of toys I spent $5.00 on and found a Hasbro Sonic Stinger. I was going to throw it away because I deal in older toys and I figured it was too new to do anything with. My best was a box of toy soldiers, Jeeps, halftracks, and tanks. Again spent $5.00 at auction and separated out into 12 auctions selling for a little over $500. Those were the days.
@Raikenprofit5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have had some amazing luck, especially fur such low investments! Have you started branching into newer toys after that find?
@ConkysFlippinAdventures5 жыл бұрын
@@Raikenprofit That was actually just this past Sunday afternoon. I'll probably still primarily concentrate on the older stuff but I'll now always look at the newer items individually before assuming that there is no interest. And the low investment route has always been my favorite. I would rather 10x a $5.00 investment than spend $400 to get $600. There's just something about my "add-a-zero" program that makes me smile.

I started going to Savers in my city just a month ago. The very first time I was there I found a vintage 1979 Dukes of Hazzard Wind up General Lee toy. The ONE with the wrist launcher. It is in excellent condition. I had one when I was a kid. That's how I new what it was. I was so pumped. It sells on ebay for about $25. I kinda want to keep it since I remember having the same thing 40 years ago. Great videos! Thanks for sharing.

9:03 They're 5 oz each and only cost $3 to ship, so what are you shipping them in that's both light weight and protective that they won't get damaged during shipment? When I mail a 5oz squishy I send then in think poly mailer bags so it doesn't bump up the shipping price, but I don't see how that's possible to prevent when shipping them in boxes. Also, what boxes? Are there free boxes from USPS that aren't for priority mail?
@stephaniemitchell85093 жыл бұрын
10:16 I see it's a 6x4x4 box, but are they regular brown boxes you purchase yourself, or does USPS provide them? Asking because I've only seen priority boxes and mailers available from them for free.
@sanantoniocorky5 жыл бұрын
This is probably a no brainer but I've found several Harry Potter Lego sets on Craigslist but none of them have the box. Is this a deal breaker? First year book seller doing ok but I want to diversify plus I like toys still and I'm still a kid at heart. Should I run from those Lego deals?
@Raikenprofit5 жыл бұрын
If you have a parts list, and sealed bags, you should be alright. The box will be a big selling point though. If the parts aren't in the original Lego brand labeled bags it may be hard to sell them since you can't guarantee all of the parts are there without physically counting each and every one.

@Raikenprofit5 жыл бұрын
You have listing fees either way. Sometimes auction can be more expensive, but you also run the chance of auctions driving the price of your listing up higher than you would have listed it for.
@theothethrifter50215 жыл бұрын
Raiken Profit yeah I totally get the listing fee but he mentioned he would maybe not on all his items but in the video he stated he would put a start bid of let’s say $5 and then a buy it now of $15 so it can only go up to $15. But if I’m wrong let me know.
@jackdoodles5 жыл бұрын
It can go as high as bidders bid. It could go way higher than $15. Or....he gets one bid at $5. Or, he gets no bids. Someone could also click on the listing and buy it immediately for $15 if they don’t want to wait out the number of days in the auction.
@theothethrifter50215 жыл бұрын
@@jackdoodles yeah i get all that but it makes sense lets say they're bidding it makes sense if the bids at $14 they're not going to go higher than the buy it now of $15 it would make more sense to buy it at $15 so they don't surpass the bid higher than the buy it now price. So what im saying is the bidding is great but if you have a buy it now and there is a lot of people interested the most you will get is the buy it now as people will bid to a certain point but then it will make sense to buy it.
@jackdoodles5 жыл бұрын
@theothethrifter bidding can go higher than the buy it now price. The buy it now price will go away after the first bid. At least the BIN used to go away after the first bid. I’m not sure if ebay has changed that.

5 minutes to list? That is too long. My average listing time is less than 2 minutes some items I can do in under a minute. Key is having templates set up and knowing what everything is before you start listing. That said the market for these items will slowly start crashing. The more videos give away tricks and secrets the more people enter the markets.
@Raikenprofit5 жыл бұрын
It's awesome that you can move so quickly, but not everyone can. Taking 5 minutes to list something isn't bad. Templates and prior knowledge can definitely help speed up the process, but if you have to research something to make money, I'd say it's time well spent. Every market will crash eventually. Thousands of people sell clothing, but you can still make a living doing it!
@saltyapostle445 жыл бұрын
It would be so hard to sell this sort of stuff without having years worth of knowledge built up because you're into this sort of thing as a hobby or an obsession. Otherwise you would waste hours and hours of time looking up 50 cent junk toys. There is no indication of value to draw your attention to a particular item in a bag. You have to already know it's valuable.
@Raikenprofit5 жыл бұрын
I don't think it would take years if you studied the sold listings or invested in our guide. I know it sounds bias but I really believe that. Vinny didn't have much knowledge at all when first starting and within a few months he was having a bunch of success!
