I wasn’t a big fan but my brother was. When he was a chef in a restaurant in Brisbane CA, he ran into one of the actors from The Little Rascals(I’m sorry, I don’t remember which one). They talked about which ones had passed and how they died. My brother was “star struck” from the encounter. It made him really happy and from the way he described it, the actor was happy to be remembered.

I'm a huge our gang comedy fan! Especially Billy Froggy Laughlin! I visited his grave back in 2005. Can't wait to visit him again at some point. Just this past summer I went and visited Mary Kornmans grave she is buried in Greeley Colorado for which I did get pictures of her grave too. Back in 2013 I also visited Major Mites grave he was in the short Free Eats as one of the figits. I love the whole series from 1922 to 1944. Froggy remains close to my heart as all the others as well.

I was born in 1960 and lived in Sunland California until 1974. My neighbor was Douglas Greer he was a little rascal. We used to watch the little rascals and my friends said Mr. Greer was a little rascal and told me about the scene he was in. So every day I watched a little rascals until I finally saw it. I remember he had a daughter that went to high school with my older sisters. I researched Douglas Greer He was born in 1921 and died in 2016 he was 94 years old. He outlived his wife, daughter and one grandson.

Harold Switzer, Alfalfa’s older brother, appeared in the Our Gang series performing a duet of “ She’ll be Coming Around the Mountain” with his brother. Hal Roach had discovered them both while performing this prior to becoming members of “Our Gang” and which influenced his recruitment of them. Unfortunately, Harold also met a tragic and untimely death at the age of 42. After killing one of his customers in a dispute over his installation of a washing machine, he committed suicide near his home shortly thereafter.

Hi Steve, Love your show. Have you done any shows on United States President's? Not talking politics, just American history. You have two in California. President Reagan in Simi Valley and President Nixon in Yorba Linda. I've been to both library's a few times. Thank you

definitely watched the Little Rascals/Our Gang on tv after school in the mid-1970's when I was elementary school age. Never realized how old the films I watched were, even at that time. I think I pictured them as still being kids, lol! a few were already deceased by then (Alfalfa, Froggy, Scotty, Harold (Alfalfa's brother), but there were so many more living then than there are now. I enjoy your videos, because I also enjoy exploring cemeteries. I find them to be some of most, quiet, tranquil places to go to when I need some peace and contentment. I think I've been to every cemetery in my area (SW Pennsylvania), including the one where they filmed Night of the Living Dead back in 1968. It's only about a few miles from where I live! I've also found a few famous graves. One was William Eythe, an actor from the 1940's and '50's who was actually from my hometown. the other one was none other than Jayne Mansfield, who is buried in Pen Argyl, PA which is in the Eastern part of the state! I found her grave driving back from NYC when I saw a sign for Pen Argyl and I knew I had to go there immediately to find her grave, which I did after searching the entire town! fortunately for me, it's a small town, lol! I'm sure you probably know that Jayne has a beautiful heart-shaped tombstone because she loved hearts. I took some pictures but although I am a Find A Grave member, it wouldn't allow me to post the photos on her Find A Grave page. Anyway, thank you for your videos, Steve! I always check for the latest one! btw, my favorite Rascal: Alfalfa by a landslide!

Here we don't have mausoleums but common thing is underground family cript, concrete chamber that can be for two, four, six or eight people, for two is side by side, for four is two stacked over two, for six and eight chamber is deeper and there are shelfs for three or four one over another, if you can visualize that, it is not like cascets are stacked directly one on another, if that make sense, so I assume there is also some kind of cript there. Not familiar with that show, but it doesn't matter, informative and interesting blog as always, I learned something new, great job Steve!

Loved the Little Rascals! Spanky and Darla and Alfalfa and Buckwheat where my faves! I don't remember the really early ones or seeing robert blake! I do have a 1930's RCA radio show poster that has several stars including "Sunshine Sammy" but i never saw him as he was on early shows i guess! I think Hal Roach who produced them lived to be over a 100! Thanks Steve another good one!

Hey Steve thanks a lot! This was really great to say the least. I love the way you handled this and were able to get so many of the characters especially the ones that weren't as popular as Spanky Alfalfa and Darla. My God this show used to make me laugh and after I'm done writing this I'm going to watch a couple of episodes because I could sure use a good laugh. It's horrible thinking about how some of them died so tragically. Hit by a truck while delivering newspapers, hit and run driver. I always remember hearing about the story of alfalfa getting killed over nothing. Such a sad thing. You always do such a great job Steve thank you so much and be safe out there and of course... Keep them coming!

I don't know if someone earlier might've posted it, but Darla Hood and Spanky McFarland appeared in the 70's on the Mike Douglas Show. If you Google Darla Hood and look through her photos, you'll see 2 or 3 photos from that appearance. I'm happy to say that I saw that particular show when it was broadcast. She was cute as girl and beautiful as a woman. I thought it was neat that they both used their real names in the Rascals shorts, Spanky only using his real last name. I was a big fan of the Little Rascals and the Mike Douglas Show.
