This virus has had so many negative effects. But, one positive effect (IMO anyway) is that someone like Steve Vai has time to take two hours out of his day to expound on something so deep and personal to himself and just put it out there. This was absolutely amazing.

@@shereenskalsky1612 Ah Shereen. If meditation "clears the mind", wouldn't meditation simply allow you to worship Jesus more fully? If all meditation does is allow you to focus, couldn't you direct that focus on praying to Jesus? Have you ever listened to your mind? It's a mess. Try this: 1) pray to Jesus for guidance, help and forgiveness 2) sit for 10 minutes and try to keep your mind focused on a picture of Jesus on the cross, noticing what your mind does and keep bringing your focus back to Jesus on the cross 3) After 10 minutes thank Jesus for your life and everything else your grateful for. 4) Do it for 15 days and see what happens. My guess is you'll feel a lot closer to Jesus, you'll feel a lot happier and you will begin to glimpse what being self-directed feels like. What peace feels like. What connectedness (to Jesus) feels like. Master your mind and you can choose to be more Christlike. Let your mind rule you, and you don't even have a choice. You'll remain being acted upon.

The letters at around the 35 min mark and the 133 min mark were so heartbreaking. All Steve is doing is helping us find the answers to the most pressing existential and spiritual questions for us to achieve peace within, by taking his own time aside for this, I should add. What does he get in return? Total misinterpretation by people like these. I have always appreciated yoir music and your esoteric side and it has helped me a lot in life. You are my fav artist and one of my fav people to listen to, Mr. Steve Vai. Please, continue with everything that you do and bless us with your mastery.

It takes a lot of faith to believe a building was built by itself from nothing. No, there was a builder, right? God created man, the earth and it's amazingly beautiful nature, and the universe. Scientists have "proven" that everything in existence is mostly, 99 percent (some theorize 100 percent) empty space. God says he spoke us into existence. If the flat earth believers would have read the Bible, they would have seen that God says he holds this sphere/globe on nothing. Those are some examples from God's Holy word that he is our Creator, he is never wrong, and science will always be trying to explain his creation. Also, I want to mention that we, us born-again followers of Christ, put our faith in God's word because of prophesies. God tells us that you will know he is the true God, because all of his prophesies will come true. One of my personal favorites is when the Roman soldier stabbed Jesus, after taking him off of the cross, but he did not break any of his bones, as he did to the thieves on either side of Jesus, unwittingly fulfilling just one of the over 300 prophesies about Jesus in the Old Testament. The Holy Bible is filled with prophesies. We are living in prophetic times right now! I hope this encourages you! God bless you!!! 💕 ❤️

I've waited so long to hear Steve talk about his perspective of Spirituality,I'm amazed that everything he is explaining is exactly my own "knowing " on life and Spirituality in a general sense of course. What is impressive to me is not just his insight, but his inner strength to control his responses to some of the very negative people who attempted to attack him.I myself do not have the level of inner strength that Steve has,I share his "knowing" that resonates with our spirit, but not all can recognize this due to where they are at in their growth,etc...So happy to hear this,And I thank you so much Steve for putting yourself out there in this context,You are truly an inspiration, alongside my other musical inspiration, BACH,lol.🙂👽🙏

Hello Mr. Steve Vai. I am a huge fan and admirer for 20 + years of your music career and I am loving these videos of you sharing your thoughts and your words. I agree with a lot of what you are saying… I am interested in getting your thoughts about practicing Yoga and how there are some Christians who believe it’s evil. Of course people can believe in what they feel and think is true… I am not against Christian faith or any other spiritual beliefs, as long as it’s not done in an unhealthy way…I believe it’s healthy to be open minded. I too am currently reading the Bible…To each one of us what we believe is our own personal journey and experience and personal right …For me I believe Yoga is definitely a positive practice to bring into one’s life and one’s personal faith…but again to each is own. Thank you very much for all you do and I am loving your new album Inviolate. Take care, God Bless You and Namaste.🙏🏻🎸

What you went thru with your Dad is my story also. He drank till I was 12. When he stopped he pulled out his old black strat and... Naturally I started playing guitar also. I got a mid 70s SG and sat in front of the Record Player (good ole days). When I was 15-16 he helped me build a guitar for shop class. Remember this was 40yrs ago. There wasn't a vast amount of aftermarket parts available. NO pre-made guitar kits. Then He started building guitars for other people under "PETERs Guitars". I was his apprentice and built a few for myself. That was about the time that I ordered "Flex-Able" and a "Light without Heat" T-shirt after reading the Frank Zappa interview in "Guitar Player" magazine. And that's how I discovered "Steve Vai". I saw a show on the "Eat"Em and Smile" tour with Billy Sheehan. Very energetic show. Everybody was young and hungry. I like when you talk Existentialism and other things non- guitar. THANX Steve. Peace

For me it did! And I'm forever grateful for it! Love you Guru Vai!

Not many people can talk about spiritual matters by a) throwing away all the dogma b) having all-inclusive approach c) without judging anybody Steve clearly has a very deep understanding of spiritual matters. What I'm still curious about is his spiritual practice. There is no practice better than another. The most appropriate practice depends on the nature of the practitioner. Some of us are more devotion oriented, some more intellectual oriented, some more service-to-others oriented, etc.

Hello Steve. I’m thankful your making these videos. Man speaks from the abundance of that which fills his heart. You reveal your inner self through your guitar playing. I can tell when your struggling, when your searching, when you have moments of peace, when your confused, when you have moments of that fun yet obnoxious in a playful way moments and when you have joy. You can not hide it. No guitarist can hide it. Now you your speaking I can see more of your inner self. The vocal chord is a greater instrument than the strings. The vocal chord brings clarity to the distorted notes. It doesn’t remove them, it helps to reveal them in their context. Still there is a third part that completes us. Your Elohim that you channel has not revealed this to you and can’t reveal this to you. Follow me with this. Music can not be seen. It is like the wind and The Spirit. We can hear it, feel it and see the effects it has in a persons life. We don’t know where it comes from or where it goes yet we know it’s here. There are 12 notes. Have you noticed there are 12months, 12 major constellations. 12 is the number of foundation. 12 tribes, etc...There are more examples I can’t share at this time. Three is the number of divinity. 3 notes makeup the foundation of a chord. Of course we can add a note here or there for color but 3 notes is the true identity of that chord. 3 is the number of The Elohim of elohims. 3 is its identity. 7 notes make up a scale the eighth note is octave or new beginning. There are 7 modes. 7 days in a week, 7 years in a Shemita. 7 is the number of completeness. Major & Minor scales are representative of us. For every major scale there is a relative minor which is representative of our flesh. Major represents the fruits of the Spirits. Minor represents the deeds of the flesh. Our Spirit and our flesh are interwoven together just like the major scale and it’s relative minor. The same scale expressed different ways. There is no sin in music in major or minor. Minor played slow is sad, in pain, lonely and crying for help and comfort. If minor is left in that condition to long what happens to it? It grows and grows faster and faster until it becomes angry & violent, hurtful and destructive to others. It’s becomes wrath and seeks to destroy others. Major on the other hand if played slow or fast remains peaceful, joyful, loving, kind full of goodness and gentleness. It never brings harm to others but encourages other, lifts them up out of their sorrows. I have never studied music nor have I ever had the benefits of a teacher or lessons. I learned these things my Elohim who’s name is Yahweh. He created the other elohim in whom rebelled. They are the ones who deceive the Nations behind the scenes. They were assigned to govern the Nations in righteousness but they desired worship and led man astray. They offer fortune and fame to those who worship them but it’s only temporary. Their time is just about over. You are channeling the wrong elohim. Yahweh gave you the ability to understand music not your channeling spirit. The question is do you want to play music at a much higher level? Do you want to go full on to the spiritual side of music? Do you want to play music for all eternity, music that you’ve not heard or discovered yet? If so, you need to come home to your maker who gave you the understanding of this wonderful spiritual gift called music. He gave you the ability physically to play it. You put in the hard work to increase the talent he gave you which is what He created you to do. However, these fallen elohim and the one you are channeling have deceived you to think they helped you. All they have done is deceived you into thinking it was them and for your worship they gave you fortune and fame. Fortune and fame are temporary as are these fallen ones. They are going to die the death of men. You can read this in Psalm 82. Read it in the Hebrew language or the ESV version. Don’t die the death of these beings. Live through eternity with us, play music with us throughout all eternity. Come home to your creator. His name is Yahweh. In the original language the Hebrew letters of the alphabet have a picture and story to each letter as well as a number assigned to it. The letters YHWH meaning are Behold the hand, Behold the nail. It’s through channeling Him how we get back to our creator. You already know His name. In Hebrew it is Yeshua, in English it’s Jesus. Find true peace my friend, come home and p,ay music like you never played before. Remember all music is pure and undefiled regardless of timing and tempos, styles and sounds, clean or distorted. What makes it good or evil is us. When we put the spoken word to it or imagery behind it. Man builds strings instruments to play but The Lord designed the two greatest instruments that without them there wouldn’t be any string instruments. They are The vocal chords and ear. Peace to you. Search out the truth.

I appreciate your honesty brother Vai. I used to be part of a Buddhist sect, no more. I still believe in Budha's teachings minus the religion.

Love these videos, Steve. Your a great teacher and loved your chat on meditation. Thank you for this and your music! Ill lovingly push back in terms of "all religions" getting you there or being the same. Perennialism is not a coherent worldview. When two religions are in direct opposition in terms of origins, eschatology, and morality...they cant both be true, and both be a valid path to Truth. To even use the terms "good" "higher frequency" etc....this all has to be validated and justified within a framework and belief system. I deeply appreciated the gesture of kindness when someone allows for all religions to be valid. But it simply isnt a coherent statement. Im glad you feel in tune and in touch and may God Bless you on your journey, Steve. Thanks for inspiring ne at a young age to play the guitar!

You were very respectful about how you navigated through your understanding. I think I heard the hard message and I in many ways have reached very similar feelings. Your playing communicates this level of understanding it really does.

Really enjoying these videos. Both the Alien Guitar Secrets and Under it All episodes are completely fascinating. This Religion episode was informative and thought provoking.

The dude who posted the 2nd comment (addressed by Steve) about the creation of music not being compatible with meditation has a LOT to learn...
