how are you doing the dragging bit, any keys to press after you drag? 4:11
@SteveWillisACCA2 жыл бұрын
To select a range of cells you drag from the little black box in the corner of the cell--it's tricky to do sometimes.

@@SteveWillisACCA hey Steve. Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to let you know that both the NPV and the IRR function weren't working in F9 on 10th June..which is weird since you said they would and the webinar by ACCA also told the same..any info on that?
@SteveWillisACCA2 жыл бұрын
@@vv-hz4hb I suggest you make an immediate complaint about that. It works in the practice platform and the examiner's reports say to use them.

@@SteveWillisACCA I firstly thought it was just me but the person next to me also said the same and so did my friend. Btw where do I make this compliant? Bc they gave us a review for both in paper format after we exited are exam and on the website two days later too. I filled the compliant in on those

I have a doubt ,can I assume numbers for sales figure and variable cost in the format by doing the correct working for each of the item
@SteveWillisACCA3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I don't follow your question: if you do the correct working the numbers, they aren't assumed--they are calculated. 'Assumed' is when you just plug a random number into a cell, for example "labour cost per unit: $10 (assumed)" you won't get any credit for that assumed figure, but if you use it later in your answer, e.g. total cost per unit, it will be assumed correct and you can get full credit for any working you do with it.
@amalfaize59303 жыл бұрын
for instance ,incomputstion of npv the marks are for all the working right ? So for instance,let’s consider the scenario where ,Sales -Variable =contribution ,So whst i intend to do is In the format. Yr. 1. 2. 3 Sales (w.N1). (W.N1) Variable cost (wn2). (W.n2) Profit (assumed) 100. 200 300 In working Note 1 and 2 I calculated all the values for sales and variable cost correctly ,but instead of carrying forward in NPV format ,I just put a note in it,then i assumed the Profit figure , then Calculated Tax on that Profit Figure Assumed

Actually, you might! If you get the word processor tool, and they ask you to "assess" performance, you will need to use your calculator, and show your workings.

Applied Skills exam: you get either a spreadsheet or a word processor for your response. You don't pick. So, do your working in what they give you. gIf you are doing ratios, and they give you a word processor, make a table with 4 columns "RATIO, WORKING, RESULT, DISCUSSION" and show your working. If you are doing the same thing in spreadsheet, the marker looks in your cell to see what you are doing. If you are doing a quick working e.g. "sales increased 20% (120/100) this is a good sign because..." show the working as i did, in parenthesis.
@SteveWillisACCA4 жыл бұрын
Strategic Professional Exams: you can use either the spreadsheet or WP tool, it's your choice--so you can do any working in the spreadsheet and reference it in the word processor.

can you explain me how did you calculate that the variable cost per unit will have a 80% chance that it will be 12 or lower?
@SteveWillisACCA3 жыл бұрын
45% that it will be $10.80, 35% that it will be $12.00, so 45% + 35%=80% that it will be $12 OR $10.8 (12 or lower)

Hi - the question states 3.5% inflation for sales and 4% inflation for variable costs, so how comes in the VC calc you used inflation which was only 3.5%? Thansk

In the original question, June 2017, the inflation rates are the other way around--sales 4%, VC 3.5%

How do we know that there is a 80% chance of it being 12?

Hi there, 80% chance of 12 or lower. The high option is 20%, so the other 2 options come to 80% in total. 1-0.2=0.8
