Stevie Nicks performed at the Key Arena on 12-11-16. This was part of her 24 Karat Gold Tour. She dedicated the song "Moonlight... A Vampire's Dream" to Prince. She gets emotional at the end of the song. Afterwards she explains it's only the second time on tour that she dedicated it to him.
Stevie Nicks always puts on a very entertaining show and this night was no exception! She is a world class entertainer and one of the few that live up to the hype. Go see her live if she comes to your city! Uploading this for the fans that couldn't be at this sold out show :) The video was shot in HD on the Sony HX50v.

No conspiracy theory here. It’s because they both had immense respect for each other…and didn’t want any publicity about their friendship & their collaboration on “Stand Back”, a song Stevie wrote while hearing Prince’s “little Red Corvette”. Pls educate yourself. Since Prince has died, Stevie has shared that story publicly. ✌️& 💟

I too have been listening to and loving Stevie Nicks since I first heard Long Distance Winner, just before she joined Fleetwood Mac. Her voice and her words touch me on a level I can't describe. The night of this show, I was sick as a dog with some respiratory crud and honestly I almost didn't go... but I went, and from the moment Stevie walked onto the stage, there was such love being exchanged between Stevie and those of us in the arena that for those moments, I physically felt better. No one will ever convince me that love and music can't heal you. It most definitely can and does. What touched me the most was how down to earth and gracious she is. She speaks to her fans as friends and family, not strangers. When she thanked us, as most artists do at the end of the show, instead of simply saying thank you, I may be paraphrasing, but she told us that we had been kind and generous... that we would never know how much it means to her that we allow her to continue to do what she loves to do. Stevie, you beautiful soul, you'll never know how much you mean to us. Sorry if I rambled, but I've been holding on to that for a little over 8 months!

This amazing performance of this otherwise obtuse and impenetrable song/poem imparts a credibility to it that it never would have had without her singing it LIVE like this. Stevie Nicks has an almost terrible capacity to elevate mediocre high-school-level poetry to a level of craftsmanship that subsequently boggles the mind. A big part of that is just her VOICE. I mean, really, there aren't many other people on the planet who are so instantly recognizable or poignant, like it or not. The other part of the equation is her unabashed commitment to her material. She deserves the title of Queen of Rock. Long live the Queen!

I've been following Stevie since 1975. She is sixty-eight years old and she can still surprise me. The voice she uses from 5:25 to 5:42 to hit those high notes is a new one on me. I am thrilled that she still has some new tricks to pull out of her bag of magic. I am impressed.
@DaveMcdon
@DaveMcdon 7 жыл бұрын
I think it might actually be one of the back up singers hitting those high notes. It sounds a lot like Sharon. Yes Stevie's lips seem to match the vocal, but it doesn't look exact. Not that I'm suggesting Stevie was trying to "fake it", but just more of a coincidence. Sort of how, after 1975 Stevie never sang the fourth "Rhiannon" in the second chorus because she couldn't hit that note. It often sounded like she was singing it but it was sometimes Christine, sometimes Lindsey, and on the solo tours one or more of the girls. I hope I'm wrong, and that you are right, and that Stevie is indeed singing those high notes, but there's probably no way to ever know. I've never heard Stevie sing in that range in the segment that you're pointing out, ever, be it 1973 or 2017. I guess we need to watch some more live performances of Moonlight from this same tour to see if that part is consistent, random, or what.

DaveMcdon it was definitely stevie singing it. seen her perform this 4 times live and this was the only time she hit the high notes at the end. I was amazed and looked at Sharon and the other girl they weren't singing. forgot to mention I was at this show

That's great to know now I'll enjoy this performance even more. I didn't meant to sound like a "doubter" it's just that I've never heard vocals like that from Stevie before. She must have surprised herself. She must have been feeling very strong and confident at that moment. Stevie's such a pro she knows not to push it too far and have her voice crack or fail at the climax of a song.
