So glad we found your link, Ridge and I flew back to Kansas City Saturday morning to be sure to make it back for the Stevie Nicks and Billy Joel concert. It was excellent. She had mentioned Tom Petty before singing the song but said it was a long story. You helped fill that in for us.

Love this trip down Stevieland” very interesting stops! I’ve heard of all these places of course, loving Fleetwood MAC & loving Stevie Nicks solo work….. I grew up with them being the musical soundtrack of my life and she still at my age 63 still continues to inspire me! She is for certainly a fighter! At 77 recently had an infection licked it in time,to not disappoint her fans. That’s my Queen of Rock and Style a fave song of mine are two unusual Garbo” and The other was Storms

I just heard the sad and terrible news that Christine McVie has passed. She was a tremendous talent and seemed an even better person. In my researching of this video a few weeks ago I was struck by the sense that she was the person in the group that the other members ALL had the most regard for. RIP Christine, you will be missed.

@@RockessentialTim Too bad I was broke when the house went up for sale in 1992-93-what a gem that house is. Similar story with Jim's house in Laurel, New Years eve 1990 when the owners were renovating, I walked right in after midnight and laid down in the cast iron bath tub for a few minutes lol. My girlfriend was living across the street in a cottage that was Van Morrison's at some point. Hallowed ground for certain and you really have a niche!!

that says more about Stevie than you may think. Restaurants often will take someone off the schedule once they have given a two-week notice. That is so they won't try to sabotage the crew with any poisonous attitudes and try to take anyone with them on the way out the door. The fact they let her work to the end means they loved her work and knew she wasn't leaving because she was mad or anything like that.

@@RockessentialTim I never ran my kitchen like some cats do. I saw a lot of wars between cooks and waitresses, and it just sucked. So, none of that in my kitchens. We always ended up with a staff that produced great and hard work with no dramas. Loads of fun, two company picnics every year, and that got me noticed. I was picked to run two different restaurants in the Seattle area because the staff was asked why the place ran as well as it did and they all said it was my running it that made it different. Sounds a bit full of myself, eh? But, all I wanted was harmony in the joint. And it worked out nicely. I never tried to get far in that industry. I was a union stagehand first. I only worked a couple weekends a month, so restaurants were actually a side gig. But it was something I enjoyed. Actually, I really love hard work. Must be a nut.

I'm a native southern Californian, moved to LA in 1986 after college for work and got a side gig assisting an antique and art dealer in Beverly Hills with many rich and famous clients. My many experiences dealing with our clients certainly gave me an inside perspective to how many rich and famous people became that way because instead of sitting on their ass talking about their dreams they went out and made them happen. LA is a big city that often all looks the same to the uninitiated until you learn it. Your presentation brings all that together in very honest and personal manner like few others do,.Thank you for producing this!

Thanks. I think most people share your opinion about Tusk. Unfortunately, Village Studios where it was recorded is the only studio left in LA that Fleetwood Mac recorded at that is still intact so we had to go with that one. The Record Plant in Sausalito where they recorded Rumours is closed and Sound City where they did the White album is unrecognizable from what it was. The wholed story about the making of Rumours is pretty fascinating. Hmmmm....

I knew most of the basic story, but this video provides some essential deeper details for mega fans like me . Yes, Stevie and Lindsay were certainly responsible for" the greatest band reboot in the history of music" . Interesting that Stevie and Lindsay never even charted with their debut album, and yet when they became the face of Fleetwood Mac, created (along with the others) some of the greatest music ever. Perhaps also one of the greatest examples of synergy in the music world as well.

This was a great video. I had read about all of these places but this is the 1st time actually seeing all of these places. I've been a huge fan of Stevie and Fleetwood Mac since I was 15. Thanks for compiling this!

Well done! I remember seeing a video with Stevie in the little Studio D kitchen (the one you were standing in) she was making coffee, but there was a giant pump bottle of vodka right next to the coffee machine. Tusk definitely isn't my favorite album, but Sara is an excellent song.

I'm with ya about Tusk. But that studio was just fabulous and it was a thrill getting to hang in it for a bit. Totally smells like stale weed smoke in there

The following is interesting regarding secret locations in the Los Angeles area for Fleetwood Mac. One of the members owned a little horse ranch on the LA County / San Bernardino county border in a city named Chino. The band liked to hang out there to get away from Hollywood. One of the band members even bought an ownership share in a freestanding bar in Upland, just up the road on Route 66 which is now a Janitorial Supply Company named Foothill Janitorial Supply. Both these cities are vewry close to a city where lots of musicians from LA used to hang out called Claremont.

It was my favorite part of the shoot and really kind of Village to let me have the run of the place. Most studios tell me to take a hike!

Always so look forward to these, definitely one of my favorites on KZbin. First Time I ever saw Fleetwood Mac was, believe it or not, they and The Turtles opened up for.. Alice Cooper! Lol. I remember it very well. I was very close to the stage. This was around 1972 or 1973, pre Stevie and Lindsey unfortunately but they were still great.

@@RockessentialTim no, actually was in my hometown of Rochester, New York! I left there 35 years ago and have been in South Florida ever since, but wish I were in LA. We did live in Southern California when I was a kid for a few years, hadn't been back there until 3 years ago and while I realize it has its problems, (what place doesn't??), I still absolutely love Los Angeles. There's a vibe there that is nowhere else for me. It's one of the reasons I love your videos so much.

Tim has such a great compilation of videos but this exceeds all. I’d bought BN album when it hit stores. Still pristine. Read every book re Stevie. Petty. This was enlightening. The location shots outstanding. Only missing Tim’s pup & that caramel interior Caddy. Dearly hoping his sweet sidekick is faring well.

Hey Tim, I had a bit of a "deja vu" when you walked into Bob's Big Boy. It looks remarkably like the diner scene in Pulp Fiction ! BTW Another great tour.

Ha! SImilar, but that was Ships on La Cienega which is unfortunately long gone. I still go to the Big Boy's in the vid on occasion. Friday night is rocking with a car show in the parking lot. Good fun!
